Nuts that is if they expect it to have players flocking to the site. It’s a shame as Nutty Bingo impressed me when it launched. That’s not easy given that it is another site operating on the Dragonfish network. But they went the extra mile with an enhanced welcome bonus and a super free gift of a set of magazines.
They went on to open their own non networked bingo room for their own players to enjoy that offers extra cash prizes and the chance to win more physical prizes.
Now, I also know it is important to become visible to a wide audience and TV advertising is the way to do that, but Nutty Bingo must be nuts if they think this offering is going to do the trick. Or if it does it will be for all the wrong reasons.
A woman in a gold sparkly dress not from the younger end of the market and being very shouty is not the way to make me sit up and take notice of what she is selling. Online bingo has a hard enough hill to climb to become acceptable to a really mass market without this kind of poor production reinforcing stereotypes that are not necessarily true to life.
For the first twenty seconds or so you can’t even see the name of the site she is advertising as she is stood right in front of the graphic – not the best directional decision in the world. They seem to realise this error and then start moving the camera angle, but time and again the name gets hidden.
This is a full minute of footage and I can be generous by saying maybe the shorter versions for ad breaks might be a bit tighter, but I wouldn’t hold my breath if I was the team at Nutty Bingo for a surge of sign ups when it shows!
