It was only a matter of time until the Jackpotjoy Queen of Bingo came in for some stick from the comedy elite, but it took a dog winning the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent to attract their attention.
With the Carry On background of Barbara Windsor and the panto style characters of Jack and Joy and the costumes, it’s a wonder the site has not been the butt of jokes from the likes of Michael McIntyre, Russell Howard, Sarah Millican and the rest for months. But no, it took the latest Jackpotjoy TV advert to feature a barking dog to attract their attention.
This ad was shown during the recent annual Comedy Gala that the great and the good of the comedy world put together in the name of charity. It features Alan Carr dressed like Simon Cowell, but acting more like Anne Robinson, telling Barbara Windsor as the Queen of Bingo that they want dogs with real talent, not just ones that can bark on command.
The video has split the office and while some love it and think it’s hilarious, others feel that it’s not as good as it could be given the comedy talent out there. Be sure to let us which camp you fall in to.
Whatever the merits of the ad itself it will have certainly reached a wide cross section of the population and brought Jackpotjoy Bingo to the attention of many potential customers it might not normally have reached.
While the ad may not be as respectful of the brand as it might be they do say that only no publicity is bad publicity .
