I think I’ve just about recovered my composure from my encounter with the lovely Dream Idols on Friday night at Oceana in Leeds. Really, the things I have to do in the name of work just beggar belief!
If there are more ‘jobs’ like Friday night on offer I’m going to be at the front of the queue every time. I met two lovely Boyle Bingo players, Annette from Belfast and Pam from Coventry who travelled to Leeds specially for the occasion. Annette won the Dream Idols comp at Boyle Bingo and secured tickets for the event, a private suite in the club itself, champagne and a get together with the boys after the show. And I got to share it with them.
The show itself was excellent – not a ‘full monty’ strip show I am happy to report – but lots of hunky men dancing about the stage in not very much at all. We even had a game of bingo when one lucky young lady got to go up on stage with the boys for a private dance.
From being a little apprehensive about the whole male stripper thing, these boys turned my opinion right round. It’s not the sordid, oily world you might think – at least not as far as the Dream Idols are concerned – and if you get a chance to go see them you certainly should.
So thank you all involved – Boyle Bingo, Annette, Pam, the Dream Idols – Billy, Tommy, Lewis, Olly and Lorenz – and my friends Nickie and Helen, for contributing to a fun night out.
