Win Tour Tickets

Take That seem to be everywhere at the moment and have been all winter. From Strictly Come Dancing to X Factor, then the Brits and Comic Relief. The lads all looked all right to me, but it would seem that the old rivalry between Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams has resurfaced.

This time it is not musical differences or jealousy of who gets the most limelight or disagreements about who is the most talented. The boys have decided that they both need to lose a few pounds before the start of the sell out Progress Tour in May.

Regular WhichBingo readers might know that I have some experience in this area, especially those that follow us on Facebook. I started my ‘lifestyle change’ in September 2010 and I have been keeping everyone updated with my progress. It has been steady week by week, some better than others, but so far I have dropped two and a half stones. A little exercise (as in a 30 minute session three times a week), less carbs, lots of water and less junk seem to have done the trick without drastically changing my day to day intake of ‘normal’ food.

If Gary or Robbie would like any tips or for me to personally prepare their healthy food for them I am more than willing to sacrifice myself on the alter of their fitness!

I love this quote from Robbie from when he found out that Gary was starting a diet, “That was the day I thought, ‘Right, if you’re eating a lettuce, I’m eating half a lettuce.’”

If anyone is still looking for a way to secure tickets for the sold out tour then Chit Chat Bingo is the place to be. There is still time to get along to the site and qualify for the ChitChat Bingo prize draw to win two tickets and travel money, to see Take That’s coming home concert at the Manchester M.E.N Arena on 7th June 2011.

Until 31st March anyone that makes a £20 deposit will then gain one entry into the prize draw for every £5 spent on online bingo and £10 spent on any other game at the site. Don’t miss this chance – play now.

In the meantime Gary and Robbie, I am waiting by the ‘phone!

Doing it for Comic Relief

We all know that Comic Relief asks people to ‘do something funny for money’ and many people do – from sitting in tubs of baked beans to hairy men having everything waxed (now that is funny, they are always such wimps and their horrorstruck looks are hilarious). So it is often the case that the stunts that are undertaken are funny for the watchers, but not so much for the participants.

Just such a case is the Red Nose Day marathon being undertaken by Chris Moyles and his sidekick ‘Comedy’Dave, over the last few days. Starting yesterday morning the duo set out to complete the longest ever radio show by broadcasting for 52 hours straight through. By doing this they are assured of a world record and a huge amount in donations for Comic Relief. At 8.25am this morning (17th March) the total already stood at £324,000 and rising fast.

Now I am not traditionally a Chris Moyles fan even though he is a Leeds lad – he talks too much for my liking and not enough music. My son has a 15 minute car journey to work and tells me that recently he went the whole way and not one piece of music was played – but in this instance I wish Chris and Dave all the best and the lack of music is not a problem if it keeps them awake!

You will never guess how I came across the fact that he was doing this. I was checking out Keith Chegwin on his live Twitter feed just out of curiousity. Why do I follow Keith Chegwin of all people I hear you ask? Because he is the brains behind Cheggers Bingo of course and I wanted to see if he plays it all the time – he doesn’t! What he was doing in his studio was watching the red button feed of Chris Moyles and pals doing the radio marathon and everyone was commenting on it.

Well, I tuned in last night for a while and tired they might be, but there is a lot of effort being put into getting the guests into the studio and doing everything in their power to make people laugh and for that they must be commended. If you want to help the Comic Relief fundraising in the simplest way you can donate just £1 by texting CHRIS to 70011 – this will donate a full £1 to the charity and will cost your normal message rate on top.

Check out the red button feed and see the likes of Vernon Kay and Jimmy Carr supporting Chris and Dave and attempting to keep them awake and making us laugh out loud – while there, get texting.

The online bingo world is also doing its bit to support Comic Relief and Jackpotjoy is at the forefront of this as will have been hard to miss, but Bingo Hollywood and Costa Bingo are also hosting special fund raising rooms and games. Cheggers, where’s your effort? lol.

Let's all help

It’s the final run up to Red Nose Day on Friday 18th March and the fundraising activities are reaching new heights to help make Comic Relief 2011 a resounding success.

It was the final of Let’s Dance for Comic Relief on Saturday night on BBC1 and I am happy to report that the run of cross dressing winners is at an end. Actor James Thornton, who plays farmer John Barton from tombola bingo sponsored soap Emmerdale, and television presenter and critic Charlie Baker (not Brooker!!) won through with a proper tap dancing routine. It helped that they were really good too and looked to be thoroughly enjoying themselves.

I think they had it won on their first performance when Charlie broke into a spontaneous tap sequence in front of the judges and proved it wasn’t just sound effects. Those are two talented and lucky men – did you know that James is married to Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page – I didn’t.

Russel Kane as Beyonce looked none too pleased at being pipped at the post, having been favourite to win even before the programme aired, but even Noel Fielding as Kate Bush gave him a good run for his money.

Lots of online bingo sites are getting behind the fund raising this year, with Jackpotjoy Bingo in particular getting into the spirit of the thing. This bingo site is in the middle of a series of TV ads showing a load of good sport TV personalities getting a rather large pie in the face from Queen of Bingo Barbara Windsor. So far Larry Lamb, father of the gorgeous George Lamb in case anyone didn’t know, Leslie Philips, Gillian McKeith, Goldie and Susannah Constantine have been on the receiving end.

It looks like it might be worth it, as so far Jackpotjoy has raised over £100,000 for the charity. Don’t forget that just by playing bingo online at Jackpotjoy Bingo in the special Comic Relief bingo room you are helping the fundraising efforts with every ticket purchased.

Other sites getting behind Comic Relief this week include Costa Bingo and Bingo Hollywood, but there are sure to be loads more before the week is out.

With it being St Patrick’s Day as well on March 17th we can expect dozens of themed giveaways and luck of the Irish cliches being bandied about, so bear with us and have fun. It’ll soon be Friday!!
