History of WhichBingo Site of the Year Award - Part 3

The final part of the brief history of the WhichBingo Site of the Year Award as told by Phil Fraser, founder of WhichBingo:

And so to the 2011 awards, for which voting was opened on 1st December. Online Bingo Players can cast their votes here if they have not already done so. For 2011, in recognition of the development and maturity of the marketing efforts within the online bingo industry, WhichBingo UK has added two new, additional, awards categories.

As the market has become more and more competitive, marketing efforts have had to be re-doubled, leading to many innovative, interesting and unique promotions. In addition, it is widely accepted that for any site, new or existing, to make a major impact in the market nowadays, they must appear on TV. In recognition of these key features in the industry, WhichBingo UK has this year launched awards to recognise and honour the "Promotion of the Year" and "TV Advert of the Year".

Both awards are running from a shortlist hand-picked by the team at WhichBingo. The dozen candidates include a myriad of stars that have agreed to do their bit for their respective bingo sites, including Gavin Henson for Brits Bingo, Jim Bowen and Christopher Biggins for Foxy Bingo and of course, Barbara Windsor for Jackpotjoy.

The promotions shortlist of 14 includes promotions featuring cars, pop stars, holidays and of course lots and lots of cash. Showing the continued vibrancy of the UK online bingo market the ‘New Site of the Year’ vote lists almost 50 new launches this year, whilst the main vote, which includes every single site in the UK, totals a staggering 353 sites.

Founder of WhichBingo UK, Phil Fraser, says, "online bingo players have more choice than ever before when it comes to deciding where to play bingo online. More choice means more competition and bingo sites have recognised that they need to ensure they are offering their players the very best experience and promotions."

He continued "We have seen some fantastic offers for players during the last 12 months, as well as some wonderfully creative TV campaigns, which is why we chose to add two extra awards to the roster."

Bingo players can vote for their favourite sites, promotions and TV ads until 31st December 2011 and the announcement of the 2011 winning bingo sites will be made early in January 2012.
