In a move that may help to end the problem of players falling foul of bonus abuse allegations at Dragonfish online bingo sites, the network is to end the practice of offering no deposit bingo bonus to new players signing up to their sites.
Up until now the no deposit bonus has been seen as an ideal tool for attracting players to try a new bingo site. Together with an attractive first deposit bonus it was hoped that players would like what they see and become regular players. It may have only been 1,000 points that translated into £1 to play, but it was appealing to many people and they would join multiple sites to obtain the bonus.
This in turn has started a cycle of what in some cases was termed bonus abuse by payment controller Cassava if those players went on to utilise the regular redeposit bonuses that these sites offer too. This became more widespread earlier this year when some of the Dragonfish sites experimented with higher no deposit bonuses up to £10. While new players found the offer very attractive, many soon found themselves banned for various reasons and this cannot have helped player numbers in the long term.
What appears to have been introduced instead at online bingo sites on the network such as abc Bingo, Hippo Bingo, Shampoo Bingo and Pink Bingo is a much enhanced free bingo offering, worth up to £6,000 every month. Some of these sites also offer their own non-networked features to try and mark themselves out from the rest and give players a reason to favour them over their sister sites.
We hope that this is just a first step in Dragonfish trying to put an end to players mistakenly being branded abusers and the start of efforts to allow sites to build their own brand loyalty on the back of what is an excellent bingo product.
Players that still like a good no deposit bingo bonus should be sure to check out our WhichBingo page dedicated to just those offers - click here.
