While it has been a quiet few months as far as new bingo sites are concerned that does not mean that things have been stagnant in the online bingo industry by any means.
There have been closures and software changes all of which signal a rationalisation within the online bingo industry which means that the operators are beginning to realise there is not an unlimited supply of new bingo players out there. In turn this means that those that can't attract players from other sites go under and many are looking at ways to ensure customer retention making it harder for poaching, so a vicious circle develops and only the fittest survive.
The big losers so far among the casualties so far in 2012 seem to have been sites that operated on Parlay software. BingoBingo.co.uk was an early closure, followed by Zat Bingo and the biggest surprise of them all, the loss of Wonder Bingo.
So far none of these brands have opened on a different platform, but this is the route that some other big names have taken to ensure their ongoing survival.
While Gala Bingo has been a high profile signing to Virtue Fusion just recently, earlier in the year there was a steady stream of sites that moved away from that platform and specifically from the Better Bingo Network of sites. The case of Gala Bingo also highlights how difficult it is for standalone sites with their own unique software to survive in the current market.
Jackpot Bingo, Steamy Bingo and Pink Ribbon Bingo are just three of the sites that made the move. Interestingly enough all three opted for the main VF rival, Dragonfish. On making the move each unveiled a brand new design and gained a whole new lease of life as a result.
These probably won't be the only changes of 2012 as players become more and more sophisticated in their playing habits. The offers are going to have to be good to get people to move around as the retention deals get better and better.

i havnt seen many retention offers around yet.i find that most operaters let you leave there sites without a fight because as they keep telling us theres plenty more customers out there or is there?i would rather maintain a healthy costumer base.we will have to see what offers come out over the following months.laters

It was my birthday yesterday and do you know what - I had to take a day off to wade through the dozens of bingo offers that landed in my in-box. Well, that's not strictly true. I had the day off anyway, but it did take a lot of time to get through all the bingo bonus offers that arrived....read more"

Coral Bingo
Coral Bingo has not been around as a bingo brand in its own right for very long, but it has quickly stepped out of the shadows and is making a name for itself in its own right in the competitive online bingo market. So much so that we think it is deserving of the title of WhichBingo Site of the Month for June 2013.
