Bingo protest gains good turn out
Yesterday saw many members of the bingo industry protest outside the houses of parliament, details can be found here.
There was an estimated 300 people showing their support against the recent tax increase announcement. Many attendees were both staff and regular bingo players.
Also present was Paul Talboys, chief executive of the Bingo Association, he told BBC news "Bingo is life and death for a lot of people, particularly the elderly in the afternoons. There's not many places you can go nowadays where you can meet friends, have a cup of tea, even a glass of beer and maybe even win a few bob."
To help boost the awareness there was a open-top double-decker which was carrying more protesters which was regularly driving around the local area.
