Just like real bingo, online bingo is a social activity. Players often say that they play at one internet bingo site rather than another 'because their friends play there'. These may be people that they have never met before!
The social side of on-line bingo is performed through a chat window. Chat is an integral part of any online bingo game. It allows players to communicate with the 'Chat Managers' (CMs), friends and other players. Players will usually have an option regarding whether or not they are in the chat room. However, players in a chat room are under no obligation to participate in chat.
To take part in a conversation, simply type your message in the small box at the bottom of the chat window, and then click 'send'.
The Chat Managers are usually available 24/7 to help you get involved - you'll recognize them by the different colour type and/or "CM" in front of their names.
There are a number of basic chat rules that should be adhered to at all times.
1. Respect - Please use respect at all times to all other players and the CMs.
2. Have Fun - a good "clean" time and a community atmosphere is encouraged.
3. Be Nice - If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all.
4. Help Others - Keep in mind that all players start as "newbies". Others took time to answer your questions. Please return the kindness done for you to others.
5. Learn from Others - There are many different people from all walks of life in bingo chat rooms. Please remember that different cultures have different beliefs, and we may all learn something new from each other.
6. Learn from Mistakes - If you are warned about your behaviour in a chat room please heed it. You may receive a warning in the chat room or a written warning. A bingo site holds the right to cancel accounts for serious breech of chat rules..
7. Language and topics - No reference to body parts, sexuality, illegal drugs, rude or offensive language, no context spelling of any offensive matter.
8. Solicitation - No solicitation of any nature is permitted.
9. Other Sites - No endorsement or promoting of any other sites is permitted.
10. Writing in CAPS - This is considered yelling in the chat world and can be highly annoying to players.
