Gala Bingo sign major deal with Playtech Virtue Fusion
The deal has been done. As first indicated by the signing of a memorandum of understanding by the two companies a couple of months ago, Gala Coral has signed up with the giant gambling software provider Playtech in a mega 10 year, multi million pound deal to have all its online betting and gaming services provided by them.
Gala Coral runs over 2,000 betting shops in the UK and Europe and already had a link to Playtech as it operates 6,500 of their Videobet gaming terminals in its shops. Gala also operates the successful the Grosvenor Casinos chain and land based Gala Bingo as well as its online bingo operation.
At present Gala Coral online users are utilising gaming applications operated by a number of different suppliers, but by early 2012 the majority of these will have been phased out and replaced by Playtech Virtue Fusion offers across slots, games, casino, mobile access, poker and online bingo.
This major tie up puts Gala Coral in the top three or four business partners of Playtech and will represent significant investment and income to both parties over the term of the arrangement.
As to what this means to the Gala Bingo online bingo customers that are mainly a very loyal bunch to what is currently a unique bingo offering remains to be seen.
As speculation, Virtue Fusion could take the opportunity to integrate the distinctive Gala Bingo gameplay onto its own platform, it may just adapt it to their systems to run it on behalf of Gala or Gala may just adopt the entire range of Virtue Fusion bingo games and slots that are currently available on the Virtue Fusion platform.
It will be interesting to see if it is the latter if any effort will be made to make the offer unique to Gala, so that its major selling point of
offering an online bingo game experience not available anywhere else is not lost. Anyone not familiar with Gala Bingo can join now to check it out and get £20 free for a deposit of just £5. There may be offers available to exisiting members when any changes take place to be taken advantage of by starting to play there now.
Nevertheless, it is likely to be early 2012 before any significant changes are announced to the Gala Bingo online bingo site and WhichBingo readers can remain confident that they will be amongst the first to know when they come about.
