People who play online bingo spend 61% less than those who choose to play land-based bingo spend.
The team here at WhichBingo.co.uk asked both online and land-based players what they expected to spend on a typical night playing bingo. It was discovered that people who play land-based bingo are likely to spend £23.50 more than those who play online bingo.
A night out to a bingo hall would cost players £38.50, which includes food, drinks and transport, as well as those all important bingo tickets. Meanwhile playing from home costs players just £15, even when you include the cost of a bottle of wine.
Couples who enjoy playing bingo together face even higher costs if needing a babysitter.
It had been suggested that the higher cost of playing at a bingo hall, coupled with the smoking ban, had caused more and more players to switch to the online format of the game. The Rank Group, however, have announced, in their half-year report, that visitor numbers were up by 3.6%. This is a suggestion that both formats of the game in fact compliment each other, with young people introduced to the game via the Internet now also venturing to bingo halls.
