Rock and Roll Bingo, invented by Mark Walsh from Leeds, has been growing in popularity for a while now and is currently a regular feature in almost 350 venues nationwide.
We first brought news of this new bingo concept in April 2009, but just as a reminder this bingo game sees numbers replaced by song titles and clips of music are played instead of numbers being called.
Rock and Roll Bingo got national coverage on Radio 2 earlier today when Mark Walsh was a contestant on the Ken Bruce Popmaster slot. As would be
expected, Mark did very well with a respectable 24 points and won his way through to the 'Three in Ten' round, having to name three Westlife hits within ten seconds. Now this seems easy until you are on the receiving end and Mark only managed two in the time allowed.
Nevertheless, the exposure for his Rock and Roll Bingo will no doubt have outweighed any disappointment at his performance in this final round.
The concept was an attractive proposition when free online bingo site FreeBingo UK arranged a players meet to Blackpool a while ago and booked Mark to run a Rock and Roll Bingo session in their hotel. The FreeBingo UK players were very impressed and it all added to the fun of the weekend. A video is available to view at the bingo site.
Look out for Rock and Roll Bingo at a venue near you.
