Could LOL Bingo Change Land-Based Bingo As We Know It?

Could LOL Bingo Change Land-Based Bingo As We Know It?

In some areas of England, the number of bingo clubs has severely dwindled over the past decade, meaning that players have to travel further to access a suitable venue. Plus, existing bingo clubs often hold fixed session times that aren’t always the most convenient for customers. However, an answer could be on the way thanks to a brand-new concept called LOL Bingo.

What is LOL Bingo?

LOL Bingo offers a land-based bingo solution that is different to traditional bingo clubs.

Its philosophy is “laugh, play and win (out loud)”, and it offers a steady flow of games throughout the day, allowing players to come and go as they please without having to queue or wait for a session to begin.

Rather than being operated from a large venue with bars, dedicated gaming machine areas, and restaurants, LOL Bingo uses small lounges that are “at the heart of the community” and are “smaller, cosier, and friendlier than a sprawling bingo club”.

There’s no bingo caller either, just groups of terminals that allow friends or strangers to sit around circular tables and chat while playing. There’s also a selection of stake sizes for all.
The terminals are provided by Wexel Gaming and use an exclusive software platform called Bingo Plus.

Who created LOL Bingo and why?

The brand was created by the former CEO and Managing Director of Gala Bingo, Mecca Bingo, and Jackpotjoy along with the ex-Operations Support Director of Buzz Bingo.

The duo wanted to reinvent bingo for future generations using a low-cost, low-risk solution that would simultaneously offer players more flexibility and control than traditional land-based bingo venues.

The first LOL Bingo Lounge opened in Harpurhey Shopping Centre in North Manchester back in February, and while the venue continues expanding its customer base, it’s also planning on expanding to other locations in the North of England and Manchester where there are fewer bingo clubs.

Is LOL Bingo planning to operate online?

While to some extent, offering an online bingo product fits with the team’s aims of making bingo accessible to as many people as possible, it’s at odds with its business model of keeping costs low and growing slowly and steadily. Of course, there’s always the option to hop on the white-label bandwagon by launching a low-cost site through an operator such as Jumpman Gaming, but this would weaken the team’s mission to offer players a “clear and simple”, as well as unique bingo concept. Therefore, we doubt that LOL Bingo is likely to consider expanding into the online bingo market.

Where can I find out more about the brand?

LOL Bingo has its own website which tells you more about the company’s mission and plans for future expansion.
