The 2020 SBC Awards was a star-studded event that saw 800 virtual guests in attendance and the lucky winners announced by celebrities including goalkeeper Petr Cech, sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher, and ex-football player and movie star Vinnie Jones.
The awards ceremony was streamed online live from Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, from 6 PM on Wednesday, 9th December, and it celebrated the achievements of gambling operators, as well as affiliates and suppliers across the industry. It also acknowledged how well companies have coped (and in some cases thrived) during the unprecedented times that have been brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The highly sought-after title of Casino Operator of the Year went to LeoVegas (with Wildz Casino being highly commended).
As LeoVegas has recently expanded its games library to include Pragmatic Play’s online bingo suite and entered into other varied partnerships to enhance its offerings to players, we can completely understand why the brand was chosen above all others
WhichBingo also voted Pragmatic Play the UK’s Best Bingo Provider and Best Slots Provider at this year’s WhichBingo Awards. Plus, it was chosen as this year’s recipient of Innovation in Mobile award at the recent SBC event.
Other SBC Awards winners included:
Bet365 for Sportbook of the Year
Wazamba for Innovation in Casino and Gaming Entertainment
Betsson Group for Football Sportsbook of the Year
Entain (GVC) (owner also of Foxy Bingo, Gala Bingo) for Most Socially Responsible Sportsbook
Evolution Gaming for Innovation in Casino Entertainment
Scientific Games of Platform Provider of the Year
Relax Gaming for Best Casino/Slots Developer.
2020 is the 7th year running that the SBC Awards have taken place, although, under normal circumstances, the event is hosted at a physical venue.
This year’s ceremony featured 44 different award categories – 14 operator awards, 21 supplier awards, 3 affiliate awards, 4 payment awards, and 2 specialist awards.
