While Mecca Bingo’s online bingo site and mobile apps have been able to continue serving customers through the various national and local lockdowns, the brand’s land-based clubs have not been so fortunate.
Since bingo halls across the UK were forced to close once again towards the end of last year, they’ve been waiting for the green light from the government.
Currently, 17th May 2021 is the date on which indoor entertainment venues will be allowed to reopen in England, Wales and Scotland, and Mecca Bingo says that it “can’t wait to see you in our clubs again!”
Currently, the company is “in full planning mode” to ensure that players feel as safe and secure as possible when they return to their local bingo halls.
Last year, they implemented a variety of safety measures in their venues including socially distanced seating, reduced capacities, hand sanitiser stations, screens at till points, the option to order drinks and food directly from your table, and the chance to pay via contactless payment methods.
Mecca recently surveyed players to see what its returning customers thought when they returned to its clubs last year, and an impressive 90% of respondents said that the company’s COVID-safe measures had either met or exceeded their expectations.
If you’re keen to see what the in-club changes look like, you can watch the “Working Together to Keep You Safe” video on the Mecca Bingo website’s Bingo Clubs page.
Another big British bingo chain is also counting down the days and hours until it can reopen its venues, and Buzz Bingo is promising that its clubs will be “reopening with a bang”. Plus, other bingo hall operators including Merkur Bingo (previously known as Beacon Bingo), Club 3000 and Castle Bingo are also preparing to welcome their customers back on May 17th.
