This week, Guts contacted its members via email to advise that it has closed its Sports site and will soon be discontinuing its casino and poker sites too.

The brand has asked players to ensure that they withdraw any outstanding funds from their accounts before 5th January 2021.

Guts were one several brands that were sold to Betsson earlier this year and it’s been operating since 2013. It’s expected that Guts will continue offering its poker and casino games to non-UK customers.

According to internet sources, Betsson is also likely to be removing Kaboo casino from the UK market.

The watchdog says that it’s seen a significant decline in the number of gambling ads being shown to under-18s.

The Advertising Standard’s Authority Chief Executive, Guy Parker, says that he’s encouraged to see that gambling-related advertisers are becoming more responsible and he is confident that the ASA will continue to see a downward trend over the coming months.

BGC offers government more COVID precautions to aid casino re-openings

Michael Dugher, the Chief Executive of the Betting and Gaming Council, is once again appealing to the UK government to allow more flexibility for casino re-openings.

This time, the BGC is offering to put in place even more safety measures so that casinos will be permitted to re-open in England’s Tier 3 areas.

Michael Dugher’s letter proposes that the number of people allowed inside casinos and betting shops will be limited to 25% of their usual capacity, and also says that casinos are prepared to stop selling alcohol altogether if the government permits them to remain open after the 10 PM pub curfew.
