NewzBitez – Gambling Commission Confirms Chief Executive Appointment

At a time when the UK Gambling Commission’s role is more important than ever, following criticisms from other industry bodies and needing to provide vital input to the Government’s overhaul of the 2005 Gambling Act, it desperately needed a permanent figurehead.

Up until this week, the Commission’s CEO had been serving as interim chief executive following the departure of Neil McArthur in March 2021. Now, the temporary postholder, Andrew Rhodes, has been made the UKGC’s permanent chief executive. Originally, Rhodes was appointed in the temporary role for 18 months, but despite having another 6 months of the contract left to run, the Commission has decided that he deserves to take on the post permanently.
