One of the UK’s biggest land-based bingo chains has paid homage to one of the biggest stars of the British music scene by revamping the logo of its Liverpool Knotty Ash club. The move was made in honour of Sir Paul McCartney’s 80th birthday, and for one week only, visitors to the Mecca Bingo hall will be greeted with a sign that reads “Macca Bingo”.
The Knotty Ash club is situated near where The Beatles star used to live in his heyday. The venue’s general manager says that Sir Paul is “a national treasure” and that the club is delighted to help him celebrate his birthday with the temporary rebrand. She’s also cheekily invited him to “take over the microphone from one of our callers” if he’s in the area.
