The town of Iparana in Brazil saw hundreds of players gather in the main square earlier this month for what should have been a fun and exciting bingo game. However, due to a printing error on the bingo tickets, the game quickly caused chaos and confusion as 101 players simultaneously called “bingo”.
It turns out that the final number, 49, was listed on every single ticket, leading the alleged winners to believe that they had scooped the top prize of £155). However, due to the number of claimants, each winner was paid just £1.55. One unfortunate player moaned to the local newspaper that “I have never won at bingo, and when I eventually win, I have to share the prize with 100 other people!”
