Safer Gambling Week is a cross-industry initiative that aims to raise awareness of responsible gambling across the UK. This year’s campaign has already seen some of the biggest names in the land-based and online sports betting, bingo and casino industries feature safer gambling messages in shops, on social media, in mailings to customers and on their websites,
This week is Safer Gambling Week, and some of the best-known bingo brands have been displaying the Safer Gambling Week logo and pointing their players to support documentation that explains how they can take advantage of responsible gambling tools.
The event runs from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th November 2021.
Many major brands have taken a proactive approach to spreading this year’s message, with many choosing to email their registered customers to highlight the importance of gambling safely while online.
Gala Bingo tells us that 400,000 deposit limits are set by UK gamblers each month, and its Safer Gambling Week email includes links that allow players to limit the time and money that they spend on the site. Customers are also invited to ask any questions relating to safer gambling via email or live chat.
Bingo Bud, which is an 888 brand, has messaged its players with a host of useful information. It’s encouraging people to think about how much time they can spare, as well as how much of their disposable funds they can afford to use. It also explains how tools like “take a break” self-exclusion, personal deposit limits and game time reminders can help you stay in control. Players with accounts at any 888 brand will likely get the same message.
Jackpotjoy (and all Gamesys brands)
Emails have been coming thick and fast from Gamesys brands highlighting all their safeplay tools and who to contact if you think you are getting into difficulty. To be fair, they don’t only wait for Safer Gambling Week, these types of messages are sent out periodically across the year in amongst the more promotional mailings.
Ladbrokes is a popular high street bookie as well as an online sports betting, bingo and casino operator. This week, it’s asking players to “play smart” by not chasing their losses.
Ladbrokes is also reminding people to find out more by visiting the Safer Gambling website or to get in touch with the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.
Like many other gambling operators, Ladbrokes allows customers to set deposit limits, play breaks and deposit curfews.
Mr Green also offers a variety of responsible gaming tools. It also features a tool called an activity check which reminds you how long you’ve been playing every 60 minutes, but you can set shorter reminder intervals if you prefer.
WhichBingo believes that playing online bingo should be fun. So, wherever you choose to play, please don’t forget to play responsibly and Take Time To Think!
