Players still not happy about Gala Bingo changes
While several online bingo brands have changed software platforms over the years, usually players are forewarned. However, in the case of Gala Bingo which recently switched from the Virtue Fusion platform to Entain’s Electraworks software, the switch was not announced in advance and it seems the brand was blocked from issuing any PR to help soften the blow.
As a result, the chat rooms and the Gala Bingo Facebook page are still receiving comments from frustrated players who are calling for the operator to “bring back the old site” and complaining about the “awful layout”. Others say that the free games are harder to find and no longer available to pre-buy while some say that the games keep freezing.
Hopefully, things will eventually settle, and members will enjoy playing in the new Gala rooms that have replaced the lost Virtue Fusion rooms.
NHS nurse scoops £50k on the National Bingo Game at Apollo Bingo
Barrow-in-Furness is home to a popular bingo club which is operated by Apollo, and very recently it made an NHS nurse’s dreams come true when she won a life-changing £50,000 on the National Bingo Game.
The player was first introduced to the club by her mother and also enjoys taking her daughter along to the club, with the three often playing side-by-side.
Earlier this month, the mother attended an evening session where she suddenly realised that she won not £50 but £50,000. She plans to use her winnings to fund her daughter’s upcoming wedding.
The UK’s oldest bingo club turns 60
Most of us know that Mecca Bingo is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, but were you also aware that the oldest club in the UK also turns 60 this summer?
The Mecca Bingo club in Rosehill opened back in 1961 and is still operating to this day, and on 29th July 2021, it treated its customers to 1960s prices. As a result, players were able to take part in the club’s main games for as little as 60p.
An additional party was held this Saturday when a number of 60s tribute bands and a Take That tribute band took to the stage.

Pragmatic Play’s Bingo Blast game gets a summer makeover
Back in December, Pragmatic Play refreshed its innovative Bingo Blast game in keeping with the festive period. Snowball Blast went down particularly well with players, so now the software developer has given it another mini-makeover for summer 2021.
Beachball Blast is now available at sites that use Pragmatic Play’s bingo software such as Jumpman Gaming brands and PlayOJO. It features a sunny beachfront background and bouncing beachballs that make you feel as though you’re on holiday. So, if you fancy a virtual trip to the seaside (with no chance of being pinged by the NHS), why not go and check it out?
