EGR is the online gambling sector’s leading B2B publication. It is well respected and features exclusive news, insight, interviews and expert opinion. This is why the Awards events it presides over are also looked upon as significant markers of excellence within the gambling industry. With 30 judges on the panel, all bringing a diverse range of in-depth egaming expertise and overseen by top accountancy firm Deloitte, the judging process is the most stringent and transparent in the industry and the integrity of the awards is guaranteed.
The EGR Operator Awards are regarded as the Oscars of the egaming industry and the annual event is attended by over 800 industry professionals who descend on London from around the world. It sets out to reward B2C operators for setting high standards in numerous important categories ranging from customer service to social responsibility and makes awards across all verticals.
WhichBingo was honoured to have been nominated and shortlisted as Best Bingo Affiliate alongside some tough competition, but we are delighted to announce that we once again walked away with the trophy, making it four wins over the last five years. As you can imagine we are very proud.
The Awards took place on the evening of Thursday 24 October at Grosvenor House, London. The host for the evening was comedian Mark Watson, who many may recognise from his time on Series 6 of Taskmaster, the popular show on digital channel Dave. He is also an Edinburgh Festival Award Winner and Time Out Critic’s Choice. You may also recognise him from appearances on Mock The Week, Celebrity Pointless, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You? and Live At The Apollo.
There were 347 entries in all across 31 different egaming categories, so the winners of each award are to be congratulated as being the best of the best! The big winner of the night (after ourselves, of course), was tombola. The tombola team walked away with three prestigious awards to add to their bulging trophy cabinet, including Socially Responsible Operator which they also won at this years WhichBingo Awards:
Bingo operator: tombola
In-house product: tombola for Blocks
Socially responsible operator: tombola
The Betsson Group, Sky Betting and Gaming and bet365 also did well with two awards each in the sports betting area, but the awards we really focus on are the sectors we cover within WhichBingo, which are online bingo, slots and casinos.
The overall operator of the year for their considered all-round excellence was GVC Holdings, who are now huge thanks to numerous mergers and acquisitions over the last few years. MrQ.com was named as Rising Star and the team at Mecca Bingo walked away with Best Mobile Bingo Product.
