Winning combinations are formed by landing three or more matching symbols, starting from reel one across a payline.

The symbols on the reels of this game are:

  • A
  • K
  • Q
  • J
  • Cocktail
  • Mask
  • Red carnival queen
  • Green carnival queen
  • Purple carnival queen

During the money collect bonus feature, players have the chance to win up to 10,500x their total stake. The woman is the highest value symbol on the reels during the base game and will award 32x your stake for five on a payline.

Special Features

There are three special features in the Heart of Rio slot game including a wild symbol, a money collect feature and a free spins bonus round.

Watch out for the red and gold carnival queen as she is the wild symbol and will replace other symbols on the reels to help form new winning combinations and create big cash prizes.

Next, we have the money collect feature. The purple glitter ball acts as the money symbol and will land on your first, second, third and fourth reels. If glitter balls with a monetary value attached land at the same time as the heart symbol on the fifth reel, you can win this cash. There are different heart symbols that can land on the fifth reel to award various prizes:

  • Collect – the money values are added together
  • Extra credit – the money values are added together plus an extra credit
  • Multiplier collect – all money values are multiplied
  • Expanding collect – a reel with a money symbol can expand to cover the reel in random money values
  • Respins collect – the money value symbols become sticky and players are awarded a respin

The bonus scatter symbol is the drums and landing three or more on the second, third and fourth reels will trigger the free spins bonus round. Players are awarded eight free spins and there is the chance to collect money value symbols as you play this round. During this round, the money symbols will be collected in a pot and at the end of the round you’ll get one last respin. On this respin, the total of your pot is added up and turned into a colossal symbol to be played on reels 1, 2, 3 and 4. Use the respin and if you get a collect heart symbol on the fifth reel, you’ll win the bonus pot amount. There is an unlimited number of free spins up for grabs as landing three scatters will award a further eight free spins.

Graphics and Sounds

Heart of Rio is a beautifully designed slot game from Pragmatic Play that transports players into the lively and crazy atmosphere of the famous Brazilian carnival. Behind the reels of this colourful slot, players will spot purple feathers, drums, maracas, toucans and parrots. The reels are bordered in gold and the low value symbols are your standard playing card symbols in shiny gold. The higher value symbols all relate to the theme and include cocktails, carnival masks and various carnival queens who are distinguishable by the colours of their outfits. As you spin the reels, lively samba music plays in the background that adds life and atmosphere to the game.

If you are looking for a bright, lively and fun slot game, you cannot go wrong spinning the reels of Heart of Rio. This is a great slot game with high-quality graphics and although there are other similarly themed slots on the market, it’s still a cheery and colourful slot to spin. The bonus features are great too and players will especially enjoy the combination of the free spins bonus round and the money collect feature where there is the opportunity to win up to a massive 10,500x your stake. This is definitely not a slot party you will want to miss out on!
