If you think this could be the slot game for you, carry on reading our Toro Shogun review for all the information you need to know about this game.
How to Play
Bets per spin range from just 20p and rise to £100. When you start the game, you will be playing on five reels, 4 rows and 178 paylines, however, as you spin the reels, this can increase to 10 rows and up to 1,328 paylines. This is a pay both ways slot game and so winning combinations can be formed from both left to right and right to left during some special features.
The symbols on the reels of this game are:
- Blue dragon
- Green dragon
- Red dragon
- Bull walking wild
In the base game, the Matador is the highest paying symbol on the reels and can award up to 10x your stake for five in a winning combo. During the special features, there is the chance to win up to 25,000x your stake.
There are six special features in the Toro Shogun slot game including a wild symbol, walking wilds, a matador respin feature, a Toro goes wild feature, a shogun mode and a free spins bonus game.
The WILD symbol will substitute for other symbols on the reels and help to provide new winning combinations. This can potentially lead to bigger cash prizes.
Watch out for Toro landing on the reels as this can trigger the respins with walking wilds in play. Each time a respin takes place, the walking wild will move one step to the left and can help contribute to winning combinations.
Landing two matador symbols on the reels will trigger the matador respin feature. The matador symbols lock in place during the respins and landing additional matador symbols will award extra respins.
Next, we have the exciting Toro goes wild feature which triggers when both the Toro and matador symbols appear on the reels. Toro will then start a chase and as he moves towards the matadors, he will leave wilds in his wake. He can move both vertically and horizontally, starting with any matadors on his reel before moving left and then moving right to defeat them all.
When the reels and rows are maxed out to five reels and 10 paylines, the shogun mode is triggered. When this happens, all of the lowest value dragon symbols are removed from the reels and the both ways feature is triggered until the feature is over.
Finally, watch out for bonus symbols landing on your first, third and fifth reels as this can trigger the bonus game. Players are then awarded seven free spins and if an additional three bonus symbols lands, another seven free spins are up for grabs. A bonus multiplier is also in play and each time a bonus symbol lands during the round, this will increase by one up to a maximum of three.
Graphics and Sounds
This Toro Shogun slot game is visually very different from its predecessors as this time you will be transported to the Far East rather than the typical Spain which is famous for its bullfighting. This is a beautifully designed slot game with a mountain, temple, green fields and trees in the background. All of it feels very zen as you play! The reels are enclosed in a wooden temple design and the low value symbols on the reels are dragons in various colours. The high value symbols mix the Far East theme with bullfighting as you will discover fans, lotus flowers, bulls, matadors and more on your reels. Far Eastern style music plays in the background as you spin which works perfectly with the theme of this slot game.
Toro Shogun is a fantastic new addition to the Toro franchise of slot games from ELK Studios. It is great to see a slightly different theme with the gorgeous Far Eastern graphics but retaining the Spanish flair with the bull and Toro. What’s more, the range of bonus features in this game is awesome and players will be delighted to see that the walking wilds are back as well as free spins and plenty of respins. If you enjoyed the previous games in this series, we know that you will definitely not want to miss out on this brilliant new addition.
