Razor Shark Slot Review
First released in 2019, Razor Shark by Push Gaming is packed with special features and offers plenty of variety in the fast-paced gaming action.
A high volatility slot where there is no upper limit to the potential jackpot that can be won, Razor Shark combines classic fruit machine features, such as nudges, along with some new and highly innovative gameplay, which is why it has such broad appeal. The game has a wide range of coin sizes, and so is accessible to all, and looks and sounds good on any size of screen. The design is outstanding, with lively and characterful shark symbols, and like all Push Gaming slots, the production values are very high.

Special features
Mystery Stacks
Mystery Stacks are stacks of 4 underwater seaweed Mystery Symbols that appear on the same reel. When they appear, they trigger the Nudge & Reveal feature on each spin until they are no longer on display.
Nudge & Reveal
When the Nudge & Reveal Feature is triggered, all of the symbols in the Mystery Stacks open and reveal the symbol behind, which will be either a paying symbol or a golden shark symbol. If this creates a winning combination, it pays out.
All of the symbols in the Mystery Stack will then nudge one place down on the reel and remain in the place for the next spin. This then repeats until there are no longer any Mystery Stacks symbols showing anywhere on the reels.
Razor Reveal
When Golden Shark symbols land anywhere on the reals, they then transform into mini reels and spin in place. This reveals a multiplier ranging between 1x and 2500x, which is applied to any current winning combination, or they can reveal Scatter symbols which can then in turn trigger the Free Spins Bonus feature.
Free Spins
The Free Spins Bonus Feature is triggered by hitting 3 or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels.
When the Free Spin bonus begins, reels 2 and 4 are filled with Mystery Symbols, and nudge down 1 place on each spin, paying out any wins along the way. Each nudge also increases the multiplier (which starts at 1x) that is applied to the win.
If more than 3 Scatter symbols triggers the bonus, the Mystery Symbols Stack will nudge upward one place for each additional Scatter, providing even more free spins and opportunities for the multiplier to grow.
The Free Spins Bonus Feature continues until there are no longer any Mystery Symbols showing on the reels.
Graphics and Sounds
Set in a beautiful underwater world, Razor Shark has exceedingly high production values, in common with all slots in the Push Gaming range. The reels are set against an aqua ocean, with fish swimming around in the background, but the stars of the game are the different shark characters in a range of colours. These are fun, cartoon-like sharks rather than being of the ‘Jaws’ variety, although the other symbols include diver paraphernalia that appears to be on the ocean floor, and as we never see the divers, we can only conclude that the sharks have eaten them!
Throughout the game there is an up tempo, classy jazz funk soundtrack, punctuated by dramatic game show style music on winning spins.
Conclusion
Razor Shark is a highly impressive game offering a great mix of gameplay styles. This is why it’s able to appeal to those who prefer traditional slots, as well as players who enjoy exploring more innovative bonus features. The fact that there is potentially no limit to number of free spins that you can be awarded, or the size of the jackpot prize that can be won, are further reasons why Razor Shark has proven so popular. The Mystery Stacks, Razor Reveal and Nudge & Reveal features mean the gameplay is always changing, which is important in high volatility games where the wins don’t necessarily come up as often as they do in low and medium volatile slots.
