What's Next for UK Bingo and Casinos? Award Winners Share Their Thoughts

The rules of the game are evolving, and the UK’s biggest bingo and casino brands are responding by putting players first.

We spoke to the WhichBingo Awards winners to get their thoughts on success, what makes them stand out, and what UK players can expect next.

Foxy, Coral, Ladbrokes: Giving Back to the Player

Entain, the company who run Ladbrokes, Coral – and Best Promotions winner Foxy Games emphasised their commitment to rewarding players rather than scaling back.

“When the players sign up, we reward them. Our RTP (return to player) will not be cut and this is something we hang our hat on. We’re giving back to the player.”

What’s Coming Next:

Entain said customers loved their signature currency innovations.

“Well, you know we love a coin currency [like] Lad Bucks, Coral Coins… So, it’ll be very much more of that.”

Buzz Bingo: Bridging Clubs and Online

Buzz Bingo won showed they were masters of the bingo experience both online and in person taking home the Best Bingo Club award, as well as Best Playtech Bingo Site.

“The way that we can bring together both clubs and online bingo I think is very much part of our success.”

What’s Coming Next:

And there’s plenty more on the horizon.

“There’s lots to come from Buzz Bingo, we are innovating all the time constantly within the retail space and digital space.

“I don’t want to give away too many secrets. But we do want to be back here next year.”

Paddy Power: Sense of Mischief

Paddy Power won Best Advertising and attributed the win to their distinctive personality.

“I think we are just known for our sense of mischief in the market and I think that’s something that we’ve never lost.

“Especially when it comes to gaming and in particular bingo, it’s just really enjoyable for us to stand out in that market and just have a bit of craic at the end of the day.”

What’s Coming Next:

We know the next advertising campaigns will be memorable. Paddy Power said they would ensure they combine the mischief with authenticity.

“It’s just about being authentic and maintaining that brand tone of voice and that really strong identity we’re known for with both Irish and UK customers.”

Bet365: Player-First Focus

Bet365 were thrilled with the recognition from voters, following their win for Best Casino Site.

“Yeah, it’s great, absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone that voted for us.”

What’s Coming Next:

Their plan was to keep the formula simple and player-focused and to “continue doing what we’re doing”.

Playtech: Customers Make the Brand

Playtech reflected on what makes bingo unique in the wider gaming landscape.

“What makes bingo so special is the sense of connection it creates among players. It is a game rooted in community with a shared experience that is the backbone to any good bingo brand.”

“I think the customers make the brand.”

What’s Coming Next:

Players can expect new releases throughout the year ahead, with Playtech promising innovation and new products.

They didn’t reveal any details but said there were “exciting things coming”.

A Love Letter to the Bingo Community

Industry veteran and Best Bingo Caller nominee Chris Ashton (pictured above with Nicola McLean and Cheryl Baker) shared what keeps him passionate about UK bingo. And it seemed fitting he have the final word:

“Well, what I actually love is, because I’ve been in bingo for so many years, I just love the community.

“Bingo has such a great community. Everyone talks, everyone laughs. They’re on the socials. Women who play bingo are the strongest women in the world.”

From feel-good experiences and player rewards to slot legends; the WhichBingo Awards again showcased the best bingo and casino sites.

With innovation promised across the board, next year’s awards already look set to be another exciting one.
