Apollo Bingo Halls

Updated February 23, 2026

With the threat of closure narrowly avoided, Apollo Bingo halls have found a home in the Real Fun family. These venues are local favourites that draw a steady crowd, known for friendly teams, great games, and a strong sense of community.

Best Apollo Bingo Halls

Apollo Bingo is the place to be for classic bingo in a proper bingo hall setting. The players and staff bring a lively atmosphere which is a major part of Apollo Bingo’s appeal.

Part of the Real Fun Group, Apollo is one of the UK’s largest independent bingo club operators. There are currently four Apollo Bingo venues (Rhyl, Caernarfon, Camborne, and Lowestoft), each serving its local community with the same love of the game. But behind the fun is a story that’s worth telling.

Real Fun Group was formed in late 2023 to rescue eight bingo clubs that had fallen into administration following the collapse of Majestic Bingo. To do this, the group acquired an existing licensed bingo operator and brought the clubs back into operation, all within just three months. Real Fun essentially helped rescue almost 200 jobs and kept the doors open for thousands of loyal customers. (The boss tells us some teams were hugging and crying with appreciation).

Unlike many bingo operators that trade under a single national brand, Real Fun Group runs each club under its own identity. Today, the rescued venues operate under names including Apollo Bingo, Globe Bingo, and Judges Bingo. United but different. Got the history? Great. Now let’s get on with the Apollo Bingo review!

Most Apollo Bingo venues offer afternoon and evening bingo sessions from Monday to Sunday. You can expect afternoon games to start at around 12.00pm while evening games start at around 6.15pm. Games vary by price, but you can expect to pay anywhere from £2 to £10 a session (it can go up to £12 a main book on Sundays).

Every month, Apollo Bingo venues run various promotions that attract the crowds. Promotions (and food and drink, actually) are focused on affordable, and may include:

  • Free bingo games
  • Half price games
  • Cheaper ‘Nifty’ games
  • Cheaper ‘Bargain’ bingo games
  • Holiday games such as Burns Night and Festive Nights

Each bingo hall offers different and unique promotions that are regularly updates. We would always recommend checking out the Apollo Bingo venue page you’re thinking of going to before visiting.

What to Expect at Apollo Bingo Halls

What can you expect at Apollo? Bingo (obviously). A social atmosphere. A warm welcome. Extra games. Whether you’re a newbie or a regular, we say give it a go at Apollo!

The action at Apollo Bingo is about traditional 90-ball bingo fun and fantastic value. You get that authentic club feel whether you prefer the original paper books or electronic tablets.

To make sure you get the most out of your visit, keep an eye on each venue’s dedicated page. They are constantly updating their promos and ways to play.

Amenities vary from club to club, but all Apollo Bingo halls offer disability access (the Rhyl venue also provides hearing loops), parking (on-street or pay and display), good transport links such as local train stations usually just minutes walk away, and cash machines should you need.

Of course Apollo Bingo will take care of your tummy rumblings and thirst, offering a good variety of hot or cold food and drink options. Classic Sunday roast, anyone?

There’s no joining fee at Apollo Bingo, so new players can visit and get started as soon as you’ve created a membership account.

Why Choose Apollo Bingo Halls

Apollo Bingo and its parent company Real Fun Group are widely respected in the UK bingo community. This is a hero brand that saved the day, known for friendly staff, fun and fresh bingo games, promotions, and the cherry on top – that ‘je ne sais quoi’ community feel!

Don’t just take our word for it.

Apollo Bingo Rhyl has a 4.3 star rating from over 360 online reviews.

“Staff are really great”.

“The staff were very helpful, pleasant, and made us feel welcome”.

Mobile Experience at Apollo Bingo Halls

Apollo hasn’t built an “Apollo Bingo mobile app” that players can download on either iOS or Android devices. However, the clubs continue to use the Majestic Bingo app which serves many of the Apollo Bingo venues.

While you can’t play bingo on the app, it’s designed to support your in-person experience, so you can check session times, peruse the food menu before ordering, and more:

  • use it to manage your account
  • it’s a membership card that you can swipe when you arrive at your bingo hall for a quick check-in
  • you can receive personalised promotions and deals.

Enquire at your desired Apollo Bingo hall if you can use the app there for all or any of the above (and don’t forget that WhichBingo recommends some of the best bingo apps around if you want to play bingo online).

Spotlight on Apollo Bingo Rhyl

Bingo Apollo Rhyl

One of the most notable Apollo Bingo halls is the venue in Rhyl. There really is something special about it. Maybe it’s the seaside setting or the iconic Art Deco building, or perhaps it’s just that this venue is a nod to the past. Decades of memories are special to the locals.

Once a cinema, this Grade II listed venue has always brought crowds together.

Situated on Brighton Road, in 2015/2016, the club underwent a £500,000 renovation. This included brand new seating, new carpets, a stage makeover, new foyer entrance, a larger arcade area, and upgrading of the building’s exterior.

Visitor Info & Accessibility

Apollo Bingo halls, including Rhyl, are well-located and easy to get to. The Rhyl train station is located just a few minutes walk away from the venue. Pay and display car parking is also available for those driving to the venue.

All Apollo Bingo venues provide disability access and facilities. At the Rhyl venue, hearing loops can also be provided.

We would always recommend arriving early to Apollo Bingo. That way, you have time to grab a drink, food if you want it, and get a great seat ready for the game to start.

Final verdict: Apollo Bingo is a success story. As supporters of both online bingo and land-based bingo halls, bingo clubs, however you refer to them, we’re happy that Real Fun steered Apollo to safely away. Long may this bingo brand continue!

The honeymoon phase with dating apps is officially over. As Valentine’s Day approaches, Brits admit they still think the day is relevant, but are ready to leave apps behind. A study of more than 500 Brits shows that 82% of single people would now prefer to meet a potential partner “naturally at a social event” rather than through a screen.  This desire for organic connection comes as app fatigue sets…

Charlie Shakespeare is on his travels again (he doesn’t sit still for a minute, does he!). This time, Charles is in the big smoke to uncover the magic of the famous venue: the Hippodrome Casino. Opened over 120 years ago, the Hippodrome has been everything from an arena with a 100,000-gallon water tank sunk into the floor to where escapologist Harry Houdini performed in 1904, and a Peter Stringfellow-run club. Now,…
