From Bingo Directory to WhichBingo Members: Celebrating 26 Years of WhichBingo

For 26 years, WhichBingo has helped players discover, compare, and share their opinions on bingo, slots, and casino sites.

What began as a directory of UK bingo sites in 2000, has grown into a hub featuring hundreds of brand reviews, a record-breaking annual awards event, original entertainment and coverage of land-based bingo halls and events, and a community that continues to shape what we do.

Much has changed during that time, but our purpose has remained the same: helping players find the right places to play.

Now, in 2026, we are beginning the next chapter with the launch of WhichBingo Members – a more personalised way to experience WhichBingo.

To celebrate, we’re looking back at some of the milestones that brought us here.

2026

WhichBingo Members launches

Players can now create a free WhichBingo account and curate their own personalised dashboard.

Members can save their favourite brands and offers, set their budget preferences, receive recommendations shaped around their playing interests, and access member-only competitions.

It is the latest step in WhichBingo’s evolution: from helping players discover sites to giving them a more personal way to search, compare, and return to the brands and offers most relevant to them.

New homepage

A new homepage built around how players choose

In 2026, we reimagined the WhichBingo homepage to make it more useful from the moment a player arrives.

At its centre is a new Site Finder designed to help players narrow down their options according to what they enjoy playing and what matters most to them. Explore bingo, casino, and slot sites using preferences such as payment methods, minimum deposits, wagering requirements, game types, and software providers.

The new homepage also tells more of the WhichBingo story, bringing together decades of years of player insight, more than 520 brand reviews and over 30,000 opinions from real players. It marked a shift from presenting players with a list of brands to helping them find sites that better match the way they want to play.

Our biggest player survey yet

In 2026, we published the UK Bingo & Casino Player Survey, asking nearly 2,000 UK players about their behaviours on spending, device use, withdrawal habits, attitudes towards the black market and views on AI.

This year’s report builds on insights from every WhichBingo player survey since 2016, giving us a long-term view of how UK player behaviour has changed.

The findings echoed patterns we’ve tracked for years: three in four players told us they check reviews before depositing, and the £20–£50 point at which many players consider withdrawing has remained consistent across multiple surveys.

Best Bingo Comparison Site for the second consecutive year

WhichBingo was named Best Bingo Affiliate 2026 at the iGB Affiliate Awards in London, retaining the award won in 2025.

The win marked our sixth iGB award and continued a long history of industry recognition for WhichBingo.

The WhichBingo Awards 2026 break another record

Nearly 500,000 votes were cast in the 2026 WhichBingo Awards – almost twice the number recorded in 2025. As well as player-voted categories, we offered new categories, including Hall of Fame and Editor’s Choice, plus a Pre-Show element that focused on land-based bingo and bingo personalities.

It was the second record-breaking year in succession and demonstrated how strongly players continue to engage with the bingo and casino brands they use.

From Bingo Clubs To Casino Floors

The Inside Series goes behind the scenes (2024)

Charlie also took the format further with the Inside Series, WhichBingo’s documentary-style look inside some of the UK’s best-known bingo halls and casino venues.

Five venues have featured so far – Buzz Bingo, Club 3000 Bingo, Real Fun Group, Hippodrome Casino, Leisure Electronics and BingoPlus, and Bally’s Casino Newcastle – across 14 episodes in total.

Each series goes behind the scenes with the people running these venues, from bingo callers to casino floor teams, giving players a look at the brands that you can visit in person.

Dabbing Out launches (2023)

In 2023, WhichBingo brought the personalities and atmosphere of Britain’s bingo halls to a wider audience with original entertainment series Dabbing Out and the first two seasons passed a million social media views.

The series introduced the personalities, stories, and atmosphere of Britain’s bingo halls, with guests including Kim Woodburn and TOWIE’s Bobby Norris joining Charlie along the way.

It represented another step in WhichBingo’s development: covering not only where people play online, but also the wider culture and community surrounding bingo.

Recognised by the industry (2008-2019)

A decade of industry recognition

Long before our recent run of wins, WhichBingo was already building its reputation. Online Bingo Summit named us Best Bingo Portal in 2008 and 2009, EGR named us Best Gaming Review Site in 2011, then Best Gaming Community in 2012 – the same year iGB named us Best Bingo Affiliate for the first time.

iGB went on to name WhichBingo Best Bingo Website three years running, from 2016 to 2018, while EGR added Best Bingo Affiliate wins in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Combined with our two most recent iGB wins, that’s six iGB awards and six EGR awards, spanning almost two decades.

Building trust as bingo went digital (2014-2018)

Growing up in public

On Monday 9th February 2015, our first TV campaign launched alongside a major site redesign built for mobile and tablet, with a second TV campaign following in 2016.

In 2017, when UK regulators tightened advertising rules, WhichBingo became the first review site to publish its own Compliance Statement, reassuring visitors and operators that we took ASA and Gambling Commission rules seriously. The following year, WhichBingo became part of a wider group of established affiliate brands in 2018. That journey continued in 2024 when WhichBingo became part of Grandstand, marking another chapter in the brand’s development.

Throughout these changes, WhichBingo retained the identity it had built since 2000 and continued evolving its reviews, comparison tools, player research, and community content.

Where it started (2000-2004)

WhichBingo – the early years

Phil Fraser founded WhichBingo in 2000 when online bingo was still in its infancy.

In 2003, we launched our first Site of the Year competition, the predecessor to today’s WhichBingo Awards, built on the belief that players are best placed to judge the brands they use. In 2014 the competition became the WhichBingo Awards with a nominations round, new categories, and a dedicated event. More than two decades later, player voting remains one of the most important parts of WhichBingo.

Since its launch, WhichBingo has reviewed more than 520 brands and expanded its coverage across bingo, online casinos and slots.

The Next Chapter

Over the past 26 years, WhichBingo has grown from a bingo-site directory into a broader comparison, review, and community platform.

Players have contributed their opinions, cast millions of Awards votes, and helped determine how the site has developed.

WhichBingo Members builds on that history by giving the community a more personalised way to use the site.

This is only the beginning of the member experience. More features and benefits will be introduced as it develops, while the WhichBingo Awards will return in 2027 to give players their say once again.

After 26 years, our purpose remains the same: helping players find the right places to play. How we deliver that experience will continue to evolve.
