When you’ve gotta bingo, you’ve gotta bingo and this has made for some… interesting spots for people to play the classic game.
The digital age has unleashed an online bingo revolution, and it’s happening in the most unexpected (and often hilarious) places.
The 2025 WhichBingo Bingo Player Survey, polling 1,200 UK players, revealed a glimpse into the bizarre world of online bingo habits, proving that Brits will squeeze in a game or two practically anywhere.
From Under the Duvet to… the Loo?
Convenience and comfort seems to be key when it comes to some of the new locations that people have said they now play bingo. Because if you can play anywhere, you’re gonna play in that sweet spot.
First up: there’s the truly dedicated player. The one who won’t let nature’s call stop the bingo calls. Yes, you guessed it 6.5% of respondents admitted to playing bingo… on the toilet. We’re not judging, sometimes you need the peace and quiet that comes from the most private seat in the house.

The most relatable location? Snuggled up in bed. A whopping 42% of online bingo players admit to dabbing digital cards from the comfort of their duvets. A full house is definitely one way to heat things up between the sheets.
Imagine this: you’re glued to the latest episode of your favourite show, but the tension is unbearable. What’s a bingo-loving Brit to do? Play online, of course! A 43.3% confess to playing while watching TV. Talk about multitasking!
Pubs, Planes, and Potholes?
But the quest to play bingo doesn’t end there. The pub, a traditional British institution, has also become a bingo hotspot. It seems the lure of a pint and a potential jackpot is too strong to resist for 34.7% of players.
Long journeys are no longer a bore, either. Forget books or podcasts – online bingo is the entertainment of choice for 9.8%] of Brits on road trips. We just hope they’re not the ones driving! And for the truly adventurous (or perhaps those with a fear of flying), 9.1% have even played on a cruise.
Brits and Bingo, an inseparable pair
The 2025 Survey, which polled bingo players across the UK aged from 18 to 80, shows that Brits love online bingo so much that they are willing to play it almost anywhere. From the comfortable spaces (bed) to the more private spaces (toilet), there seems to be no place a Brit won’t try their luck.
And with younger generations now getting more involved in the game, it makes sense that the accessibility of mobile bingo – and even mobile casino sites – is undoubtedly a major factor, allowing players to squeeze in a game whenever and wherever the urge strikes.
But it’s more than just convenience. A combination of factors are at play – the survey revealed that “entertainment” (43%) was the primary driver for players, followed by “socialising” (28.4%). The “pride of winning” came in third at 17%.
Whatever the reason for playing, one thing is clear: online bingo has conquered Britain, and it’s taken over some truly wild places in the process.
