Gala Bingo Delivers Iconic Bingo Advert

Gala Bingo and Neverland Create ‘Ultimate’ Bingo Advert

For once an advertising agency and a bingo brand have come up with a truly bingo related advert that will get people talking and raise awareness of the fun and history of the game all at the same time.

We love the new ‘All the Calls’ campaign from Gala Bingo, put together by Neverland agency and Agile Films. Not only is this a state of the art slow-mo action ad, but it is part of a competition that will be run on social media, digital channels and out of home channels such as billboards and bus shelters.

Here are some clues

The competition involves watchers trying to identify all 90 bingo calls as referenced in the film. Here’s a still to give you a clue as to what we mean:

Gala Bingo Promotion

We are not sure if there are some red herrings, but we see Strive and Strive (75), Heavens Gate (78), Garden Gate (8), Goodbye Teens (19), 4 and 7 (47), Torquay in Devon (87). We might be pushing the envelope, but there could be Get Up and Run (31) and we don’t know anything about a number with a vase or a jug, but one with a man is Man Alive (5).

£50,000 to be won

That’s right. Anyone who thinks they can spot all the calls can win a share of the £50,000 prize pot put aside for the campaign.

What Song is on the Gala Advert?

Everything is in slow motion after about 15 seconds and that includes the music soundtrack too. It’s an upbeat track and will create an earworm you can’t forget (another thing that Gala Bingo is famous for). The track is See the Light by Todd Lundgren for anyone that was wondering.

More about the Advert

The ambitious and innovative campaign film actually runs for over three minutes and so anyone wanting to take part in the contest will have to seek out all the different sections of the film across the channels it is being broadcast on. We have part of it here. Of course, you will be able to find it online in full too.

It was a huge piece of work planning how to depict each number and fitting it into a flowing storyboard. Each section was then filmed using a super high-speed camera (500 to 1000 frames per second) attached to an electric bike that whizzed through the actors at 30mph. Whew!

Sara Jolly, head of brand Gala Bingo and Foxy Bingo, said,

“Despite being on the shoot, and working through all the plans and schematics, this film still astonishes me! I hope bingo fans have as much fun finding all the calls as we did hiding them.”

The competition closes on 8th December 2023.

*18+. 02.11.2023 to 05.12.2023. Free-to-play. Complete guesses per videos to receive entries. Max 4 Prize Draw entries. Prize Draw on 08.12.2023. Bingo Tickets (1p – 5p each, valid in any room, valid for 7 days), Cash (min £1/max £1,000). Player restrictions and T&Cs apply.

Charlie Shakespeare is on his travels again (he doesn’t sit still for a minute, does he!). This time, Charles is in the big smoke to uncover the magic of the famous venue: the Hippodrome Casino. Opened over 120 years ago, the Hippodrome has been everything from an arena with a 100,000-gallon water tank sunk into the floor to where escapologist Harry Houdini performed in 1904, and a Peter Stringfellow-run club. Now,…
