Glasgow Bingo Player Wins £50,000 National Bingo Game Jackpot

A bingo player in Glasgow has won £50,000 at Mecca Bingo Glasgow Forge after hitting the National Bingo Game jackpot.

The winner (who has asked to remain anonymous) is a long-standing regular at the Duke Street Mecca club, playing there with their family since it opened 30 years ago.

They called house within the first 16 numbers called, triggering the top £50,000 prize.

The Win As It Happened

Sharon Kennedy, duty manager at Mecca Glasgow Forge on the night of the win, described a club that erupted:

“The atmosphere in the club was amazing, with all the customers clapping and cheering. The winner was shocked but very excited about the win. We’re always thrilled for our winners, but the £50k National Bingo Game jackpot is a real cause for celebration.”

That sense of shared excitement is part of what makes land-based bingo different to online bingo. Imagine what it’s like being in a room full of people you possibly know when someone’s numbers come in.

The lucky winner is reportedly planning a holiday.

Mecca revealed earlier this year that in 2025, Glaswegians were the Britain’s luckiest bingo players.

Glasgow players had won a combined £7.5 million in prize money across the city’s trio of Mecca clubs – Mecca Bingo Glasgow Forge, Glasgow Quay, and Drumchapel. That’s enough to put 280 brand-new family cars on Glasgow’s roads.

Factor in the £32 million won on Mecca’s online games and Mecca players have had a good run.
