‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the funniest of them all?’ Well, you don’t need ask anymore, because Dabbers Bingo has answered the question.
And the winner is… *drumroll* Ali Brice and his alter ego, Eric Meat!
Dabbers Bingo put out the call for the UK’s funniest in their Bingo Comedy Caller Contest 2025 and it was answered in style this week in a Grand Final to remember. Ali Brice, performing as Eric Meat, took the prize after knocking the socks off of an audience of bingo fans and judges.

Who is Ali Brice/Eric Meat?
Ali Brice’s character Eric Meat, who is a colourful fusion of a happy-go-lucky figure and a gameshow enthusiast, helped him to the £1,000 cash prize and a position as a bingo caller at Dabbers Bingo over the next 12 months.
Ali was equal parts surprised and delighted with his win: “I’m absolutely chuffed to have been crowned Dabbers Comedy Caller 2025. I really didn’t expect to get past the first round, let alone win.
“There have been incredible acts at each stage who I thought would have gone through ahead of me. I’m also really happy for Eric Meat. He deserves some good luck. Strikes me as quite a lonely fellow, and the wonderful crowds at Dabbers have shown him such much-needed love. Thanks to everyone involved.”
Ali is an experienced alternative comedian who has previously appeared on The Times Best Jokes list.
Comedy Caller Finalists
Competition was stiff though and Brice had to fight off competition from a whole host of talented comedians, including: absurdist clown, Esther Cross who was crowned Judges Choice for her set that was chock full of tasty cheese puns, drama-school graduate and groovy chick Kirsty Lucas, outrageously dazzling Fabio Lezonli and smart, sassy stand-up Shruti Sharma.
What Did the Judges Say?
Ali Brice may have had the crowd eating out of his hands but the judges were no pushovers. He had to impress leading industry figures such as: Miles Baron (CEO Bingo Association), Kitty Chrisp (Metro Entertainment Reporter), Noel Cornford (Inside Out Talent), and Roland Saunders (award-winning cabaret comic).
“Eric Meat was the one to watch from last night’s Dabbers Comedy Caller Contest,” Kitty Chrisp said. “He did gloriously tragic normal-man-in-suit like no other, and didn’t break character for a second, playing the audience in the palm of his hand.”
Dabbers Bingo director Jonny Unknown said it was “possibly my favourite final we’ve ever had at the Comedy Caller Contest”.
“Eric Meat absolutely brought his A-game and upped the ante! His comedy timing, bingo lingo, and masterful mix of meaty puns and songs kept the audience laughing, dancing, and fully engaged all night long. A well-deserved win!”
