Buzz Bingo halls
With more evolutions than your favourite Pokemon, Buzz Bingo’s double-whammy venue and online brand has evolved from Coral to Gala and finally landed as the Buzz we’ve grown to love. If there’s a hall near you, we recommend you hot foot it there asap to feel the buzz for yourself.
With its bustling online platform Buzz Bingo, downloadable Buzz Bingo app, and operating 82 venue clubs throughout England and Scotland, Buzz is throwing everything it has to offer to bring its vast bingo community together.
In case you didn’t know, Buzz is the rebrand of Gala Bingo undertaken by the new ownership of Caledonia Investments that took place in 2018. In 2021 Caledonia sold to ICG (Intermediate Capital Group), who in turn are looking to sell Buzz Bingo during 2024 to the highest bidder. At this point Buzz Bingo has 80 UK wide clubs (in contrast to Mecca Bingo with 55).
Buzz Bingo has been working to add to its loyal community a younger audience looking for IRL interaction. Partnering with Playtech, it’s setting the stage for a lively bingo & slots atmosphere.
Whether you’re a seasoned Buzz Bingo player looking to see the latest happenings in the halls or a newbie wondering what’s in the membership pack, we’ll take you through it.
Buzz Bingo is one of the most recognisable names in the UK bingo industry, but how much do you know about this famous brand?
Join Charlie Shakespeare from WhichBingo as he enjoys exclusive access behind-the-scenes in-club and online. He’ll explore Buzz Bingo’s high-street bingo halls, before seeing what happens in the background of their online bingo and casino site.
He’ll also get to understand how everything comes together and get a glimpse of the plans for the future.

FACILITIES AT BUZZ BINGO HALLS
You can choose between daubing in the Main Hall, relaxing in the bingo lounge or spinning the slots in the dedicated slots area – Buzz Bingo has it all.
Bingo your way as Buzz provides both paper and touchscreen ticket options. Sites tend to offer onsite parking, disabled access, and a free-to-use cash machine, though we haven’t been to all 80 venues to check. Depending on location, you may find a roofed Bingo Terrace where you can puff and play without getting rained on. See below for details on food and beverages.
We mentioned Buzzbingo.com, but there’s also Live Bingo – a 10-hour streaming schedule packed with livebingo sessions featuring real callers every day from 12pm – 10pm.
FOOD MENU
Popping in for a quick round of bingo (if that’s even possible) or having a night out with friends? Well the Buzz Bingo menu offers something for every taste bud, from all day bar deals to hot food and delicious desserts.
We’d be here all day listing the full menu, so we’re giving you the highlights and you can browse the extensive menu when you visit Buzz Bingo yourself, OK?
If you fancy a burger and chips, there’s chicken, beef, and vegan options available, and if you’re feeling extra peckish, you can go large and double it, or add toppings.
There’s hot dogs, pizza, mains like fish & chips, chicken tikka masala, a choice of pies, and more. How about a fried chicken basket or loaded fries? Maybe the slightly smaller but still filling ‘fiver favourites’ will grab you, or a simple jacket potato with toppings.
Want dessert? You got it – enjoy plenty of sweet treats including Bakewell Tart, crumble (with custard or ice cream of course) or a daily selection of handmade cakes.
You can order from your touchscreen if you don’t fancy the walk to the bar, and customers who’re vegan, vegetarian, and GF, the menu is clearly labelled.
TICKETS
Buzz recommends you pop in 20 minutes before play starts so you can register and get your questions answered by the friendly staff, plus get your new member bingo pack for £5. You’ll receive a paper book or 30 touchscreen tickets (electronic play has become increasingly popular) and other goodies. Alternatively, you can join your club online beforehand.
You can play for only £5 on your second visit too, plus grab the burger & drink for £5 deal, and more. New member slot fans can also grab a great welcome offer – £10 of slots for only £5.
SESSIONS
Hold onto your daubers because Buzz Bingo offers six major sessions a day as standard, from breakfast bingo (10.30am Mon – Sat) to Late Finale Bingo (9.15pm every day). Plus nearly 10 extra games, like Go Go Bingo (20p games) in between sessions and Double Money (2 tickets for £1). Afternoon Main Event Sessions start at 1pm Mon to Fri and 1.30pm on weekends. 7pm is the start time for Evening Main Event sessions.
What are Main Event Sessions? They’re Buzz’s big attractions that offer a fun-filled mix of bingo and extra games. You will also find the Buzz Bingo unique GOGO Bingo games which have huge prizes up for grabs. A lucky player in Leeds recently walked away with a Buzz club big win, enjoying a massive £14,000 prize from a 20p ticket.
If you’re looking for a different way to win other than bingo, every Buzz Bingo hall has a dedicated space for digital slots games. A slots host will help you claim your £10 of slots for £5 offer.
PRICES
Depending on whether you’re a paper or touchpad player, you can play from as little as £2 and up to £55 for Double XL (150 tickets!). Prices may vary depending on venue.
ELECTRONIC TERMINALS
Some say that paper tickets deliver the most authentic bingo experience, but touchscreens are all the rage at Buzz Bingo. There are even two electronic only sessions – Big Bite Bingo and Late Finale Bingo. You can use the screens to buy your bingo tickets, play slots, top up your balance or order from the bar. Just grab a device and take it to the Bingo Sales area!
Considered the easiest way to play bingo and with more chances to win because you can play with multiple tickets rather than one paper, touchscreen also has Autoplay which allows you to have a chat with your mates while the caller shouts out those all important numbers.
Remember to keep your giggles to a minimum if you’re to hear the calls.
COMMUNITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
Whether you’re looking for a 1 line, 2 line or full house win, the community spirit is alive and kickin’ at Buzz Bingo. It’s generally a quiet game with the gentle murmurs of friends chatting, but there’s still a distinct atmosphere and a buzz of excitement right up to the all favourite “BINGO!” moment.
Buzz Bingo prides itself on friendly staff, good food, and comfortable venues. Don’t be shocked if you’re asked for ID. Buzz’s ‘Think 25’ policy means that if you(‘re lucky enough to) look younger than 25, you’ll need to prove you’re over 18 years of age. So take a photo ID with you – either passport or driving licence.
Buzz Bingo Facebook is a hot meeting spot for the community, and its Instagram page shows lots of giggles and funny vids. We love a bingo brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Buzz Bingo head office is in Nottingham and everything about the brand that matters to players is UK based. There are not many brands that can say that these days.
EVENTS AT BUZZ BINGO LIVE
There are a number of venues that deliver a special experience – the wonder of Buzz Bingo’s parties that combine games, music, prize giveaways, live entertainment, and more.
How about the bingo party Bada Bingo where you can bust a move to your fave 90’s and 00’s tracks. Or Abba Bingo where, yes, you guessed it, is heavy on the Abba theme. Maybe Boogie Bingo is more your vibe – singing, dancing, and daubing the night away.
These live events are spectacular and highly recommended.
THE FUTURE OF BUZZ BINGO
A few years ago Buzz Bingo revealed it was closing 26 of its halls. And again more recently it announced a handful of further closures. But Buzz hasn’t stopped buzzing and we think 82 venues (plus a great range of online option too) is an impressive portfolio.
It announced its three-year partnership with the Stroke Association at its Stratford club in London. Together, they’re on their way to raising £200,000 to raise awareness and funds for the Association through initiatives like events at their halls nationwide. Fantastic!
Rumour has it that Buzz is working on the capability for customers to be able to use their online credit in clubs. We’ll update you when this happens.

OVERVIEW OF BUZZ BINGO TOOTING
When we filmed the WhichBingo Awards at Buzz Bingo Tooting in 2021, we were blown away by its splendour so we thought we’d share more of its magic with you.
Located on the Mitcham Road in South London’s bustling SW17, Buzz Bingo Tooting was originally a cinema built in 1931. It’s now a grade 1 listed building with unique Art Deco-inspired arches and beautiful interior, which adds a sense of historical glamour to the bingo experience.
Apparently Frank Sinatra, the Rolling Stones, and even The Beatles performed on the stage after it evolved from a Granada cinema into a music venue. It’s been a bingo hall since the 1970s, putting it in good stead as one of the most dramatic places to bingo the night away.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT BUZZ BINGO TOOTING
There’s plenty of ways to get to Buzz Bingo Tooting whether you’re using the free car park behind or the excellent public transport links if you’re thinking of having a wee tipple. The nearest tube is Tooting Broadway on the Northern line which is only a two minute walk away. Tooting via Thameslink is about a 15 minute walk away, and there’s tons of bus lines that stop outside the venue, including the 127, 264, 270, 333, and 44.
The outside of the building is understated but impactful, thanks to its tall pillars and defined edges. Once inside, there’s a grand reception area, slots room, gorgeous main hall, and well-stocked bar. You can tell that this venue has everything you need for a great session with its red cushioned seats, intimate booth layout, beautiful artwork, and atmospheric chandeliers.
BUZZ BINGO TOOTING GAMES
Open times are early til late: 10:00am – 4:00am Wed, Thur & Fri, and 24 hours Mon, Tue, Sat, and Sun.
The Tooting venue offers the standard Buzz Bingo games that take place across the network and regular promotions like Big Money Nights and Snowman Day (win double prize money by calling 8 or 88). Slots fans can enjoy Tournament Thursdays and it’s a proud host of live entertainment Bingo Wonderland and Bada Bingo.
We like that Tooting updates its Facebook page daily with flash competitions, sales, and giveaways to keep it fresh and exciting.
BUZZ BINGO TOOTING PRIZES
All the Buzz Bingo prizes you love are here, like the community jackpot Pot of Gold that grows daily and can be played during Lunch Club, Big Bite, and Late Finale sessions.
At Buzz Bingo, over £2M is won in prizes every week.

BREAKING NEWS: BUZZ BINGO IN TALKS TO ACQUIRE TWO MERKUR BINGO VENUES
Buzz Bingo is in advanced discussions to acquire the 2,700 capacity MERKUR Bingo hall in Cricklewood, North West London and the 1,600 capacity Northampton venue! Buzz Bingo had a successful 2023 financial year; both land-based and online revenues are up, and the brand is on a growth trajectory. Acquiring these MERKUR venues would be a great opportunity – both sites have great footfall figures (they had 410,000 people through the doors in 2023 combined), they’re popular with the locals, and have great payout rates – an average of £1million in winnings every month. The popularity of real life bingo is also rising, particularly among younger people aged 25–34, signalling promising market trends. Capitalising on this should certainly put Buzz Bingo on the path for growth. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops!
Buzz Bingo is up for Sale
02/01/2023
Buzz Bingo owner Intermediate Capital Group is looking to put the business up for auction in 2024 and has appointed bankers Nomura to handle the sale. The actual timing of the sale will depend on prevailing market conditions. ICG picked up Buzz Bingo in 2021 from Caledonia Investments in 2021 for ‘a nominal sum’ following the Covid pandemic. The potential sale comes at a time when the brand reduced pre-tax losses to £17.9m to January 2023, compared to a £40m loss the year before.
