This research reveals some of the most interesting findings, and highlights the regional differences in pet parenting styles.
Methodology
To gain insight into pet owners’ spending and pet-parenting habits, we surveyed participants across the UK, asking identical questions to gather consistent data.
We compared results from each region to the national average, identifying trends and highlighting the most notable behaviors in various parts of the country.

Question 1: Do you let your pet eat from the dinner table/plate?
The practice of allowing pets to eat from the dinner table is most common in Kensington and Chelsea, with 65.5% of respondents admitting to it.
Liverpool and Glasgow follow, both well above the UK average of 37.28%. Interestingly, Burnley had the lowest percentage at just 18.83%.

Question 2: Do you let your pet sleep in your bed?
Birmingham leads the way with 64.81% of pet owners allowing their pets to sleep in their beds.
Blackpool and Newcastle follow close behind, with figures well above the UK average of 47.04%. In contrast, Islington rounds out the table with the lowest percent at just 25.18%.

Question 3: Do you buy designer goods for your pet?
Designer goods for pets are a luxury most embraced in Kensington and Chelsea, where 61.4% of owners make such purchases.
Hammersmith and Fulham follow at 57.13%, well above the national average of 19.84%. Islington sees the least interest, with only 2.1% indulging in designer items.

Question 4: Has a social media account for a pet?
Social media accounts for pets are most popular in Kensington and Chelsea at 30.25%. Reading and Edinburgh took first and second runner up, with each region showing engagement well above the UK average of 16.31%. Portsmouth comes in last at 6.05%.
Findings
Our survey reveals significant regional differences in pet parenting. Kensington and Chelsea consistently topped the charts, particularly for table feeding, luxury goods, and social media. In contrast, regions like Burnley and Islington showed less indulgent behaviors.
Overall, these findings highlight the diverse ways in which UK pet owners treat their pets, from lavish spending to bedtime habits.
