National Bingo Game Caller of the Year 2024

Issy-Mae Hunt Wins National Bingo Game Caller of the Year 2024 Competition

After months of exciting competition, seven finalists took to the stage for the ultimate performance at the National Bingo Game Caller of the Year 2024. On Sunday 17th November, the grand finale lit up Mecca Bingo Wakefield with Issy-Mae Hunt from Buzz Bingo stealing the spotlight and claiming the title. Over 500 friends, family members, and bingo fans headed to Wakefield to root for their favourite caller.

And The Winner Is…. Issy!

Live Buzz Bingo bingo host, Issy-Mae, gave a polished performance with only a ukulele and original song! She wowed the crowd (and clearly the judges too). Issy-Mae has only been in the industry two years, starting out with just a part-time role at Buzz Bingo Ipswich.

Along with the esteemed title, Issy-Mae raised a sparkling trophy and took home a juicy £1,000 cash prize. Plus, won the honour of being the National Bingo Game ambassador for the next two years.

(And WTG Runner-Up Gary Wilson)

Among the performances of the day, we were chuffed to bits for runner-up Gary Wilson from Bingo Plus who was on our player panel at WhichBingo’s Awards earlier this year.

Fun, Food, and Fantastic Entertainment

The competition began with a warm welcome of complimentary bubbly and a traditional Sunday roast. The finalists performed to the audience, from line dancing to a rendition of The Greatest Showman. All seven finalists showcased their skills in entertaining, engaging, and calling the numbers. The judges had a tough decision!

All six runners-up walked away with a trophy and £500:

  • Anton Fletcher – Castle Bingo Bootle
  • Debra Phillips – Castle Bingo Merthyr Tydfil
  • Kara Smith – Club 3000 Bingo Ipswich
  • Kelly Horton – Mecca Bingo Brierley Hill
  • Tim Dobson – Club 3000 Bingo Blackpool
  • Gary Wilson – Bingo Plus

What Did The Judges Say?

CEO of The Bingo Association Miles Baron said: “This competition is a fantastic way to celebrate the talent, passion, and skill of bingo callers, who play such a crucial role in the bingo experience. The finalists this year were outstanding, but Issy-Mae truly stood out with her creativity and stage presence. I’d like to thank the Mecca Bingo team for hosting such a phenomenal event and the judges for their expertise”.

Donna Kunyo, the 2019 National Bingo Game Caller of the Year winner and Daryl Powell head coach of the Wakefield Wildcats rugby league team were also part of the judging panel.

In The Winner’s Words

After her big win, Issy-Mae couldn’t contain her happiness:

“I am so happy to have won and been crowned National Bingo Game Caller of the Year 2024! The whole day has been amazing. I want to thank everyone who came and supported me and congratulate all the other finalists for making it to the final. I’m thrilled to take on the ambassador role for the Bingo Association over the next two years”.

A Celebration of the Bingo Community

The National Bingo Game Caller of the Year competition has once again proved how fantastic the bingo community is—a testament to the joy that comes with a shared love for the game and a reminder of the talent that bingo callers bring to the table.

A big congratulations from everyone at WB HQ to Issy-Mae Hunt on her win, to Gary Wilson for his top-notch performance, and to all the finalists who made this event so wonderful. Here’s to even more excitement at NBG Caller of the Year 2026!

We’ve had a look at the live and online bingo and casino events and offers across the UK this month, and there’s a lot to like. Two proper occasions: one to show Mum she’s loved, one to wear something green and pretend you’re a little bit Irish. Both are a great excuse to get out and do something memorable. A 60-year-old Wigan local has become the very first person in the UK to claim the new £250,000 jackpot in the National Bingo Game. The woman’s Tuesday night catch-up with her daughter at the Wigan Club 3000 turned into a moment she’ll never forget. “When my numbers were called, I was in total shock. “At first, I thought it was a false call, but when I realised it wasn’t, I…

Charlie Shakespeare is on his travels again (he doesn’t sit still for a minute, does he!). This time, Charles is in the big smoke to uncover the magic of the famous venue: the Hippodrome Casino. Opened over 120 years ago, the Hippodrome has been everything from an arena with a 100,000-gallon water tank sunk into the floor to where escapologist Harry Houdini performed in 1904, and a Peter Stringfellow-run club. Now,…
