From the X-Files, to baffling Norwegian novelty songs, there’s something about foxes, isn’t there?
They’ve been capturing our imaginations for centuries; they’re sly, stylish, a little bit cheeky.
Let’s take a loving look at the fox’s greatest cultural hits.
What Does the Fox Say? – Nobody Asked, But Here We Are
In 2013, Norwegian duo Ylvis asked a question nobody had considered and promptly broke the internet, racking up more than 1 billion views.
What Does the Fox Say? was so aggressively bizarre that it somehow became a genuine global hit. Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding, and all that. It’s the kind of cultural moment that’s impossible to explain to anyone who wasn’t there. Pure chaotic fox energy.
Foxy Games – Keeping It Fun
And then there’s Foxy Games, which has been bringing a cheeky, playful fox spirit to the world of online bingo and casino for years.

The brand leans right into that classic fox personality: fun, a little bit sly, and always up for a good time.
It fits perfectly, because bingo at its best is exactly that: lighthearted, sociable, and entertaining.
And with a 4.8 rating out of 5, they back up that personality with the features that actually matter to players.

Foxy Brown – Cool, Confident, Iconic
Pam Grier’s 1974 classic gave the fox name a pure, undeniable swagger.

Foxy Brown is one of cinema’s great leading ladies; fierce, funny, and absolutely nobody’s pushover. The film became a touchstone of 70s pop culture and Grier herself a Hollywood legend.
The Foxy name alone became shorthand for a certain kind of effortless cool, which is probably why rapper Inga Marchand borrowed it wholesale for her own career in the 90s.
Fox Facts:
- The fox is a distant relative of the wolf
- A fox can run up to 30-35 miles per hour
- Foxes can live up to 14 years
Fox Mulder – Believing the Unbelievable
Last, but not least, you’ve got Fox Mulder, The X-Files’ conspiracy-chasing FBI agent played by David Duchovny.
Mulder brought a different kind of fox energy, intense, obsessive, perpetually convinced the truth was out there somewhere.
He gave the name Fox a brooding, intellectual edge that “I Want to Believe” poster sellers everywhere appreciated greatly. It’s been more than 30 years since the show debuted but it is still iconic.
And fans can get excited as an X-Files reboot is in the works, with Sinners director Ryan Coogler in charge.
