How to play

Pirate Pays Megaways uses the popular reactions feature to award winning combinations. If you are not familiar with this feature, each time a winning combination is formed, the symbols in that combo will be removed from the reels and replaced with new symbols that can potentially form more winning combinations. This feature only ends when no new winning combinations are formed.
Under the four main reels, you will see another row that is made up of four positions. Here, the wild compass symbol can land. This compass will spin to point either north, south, east or west and all symbols in that direction it is pointing will become the parrot wild symbol. The parrot wild symbol will replace other symbols to help form new winning combinations and award cash prizes. The only symbols they will not replace are the scatters.
There are two scatter symbols in this game. The first is the standard gold treasure chest that can appear on reels one to five and the second is the mega scatter purple treasure chest that can appear on the sixth reel. These scatter symbols will trigger the game bonus round. Get three standard gold treasure chest scatters to trigger the Kraken bonus round or if you get two of these scatter symbols plus a purple treasure chest scatter, the mega bonus round will be activated.
If the Kraken bonus round is triggered, players will be presented with 20 different prize options. Each prize option will contain a starting win multiplier and a set number of free spins. If you landed more than three scatter symbols, each scatter over three will remove one of these options. The animated canons will then appear at the side of the ship to blast away a further five options. Next, the animated Kraken appears with a treasure chest to offer free spins which players can choose whether or not to accept. If you do not accept this offer, the canons will carry on blasting away the prize options until the player either accepts one of them or only two prize options are left. When two options are left, one will be opened and that will be the one players must take, as the other option will be removed. The free spins then start and each time the reaction feature is triggered, the win multiplier is increased by 1x. There is no upper limit applied to the win multiplier.
Players who triggered the mega version of this round with the purple chest scatter symbol will get to enjoy the same feature but with one big difference. Instead of random prize options being removed from the reels, in this version the lowest 10 prize options are removed.
Players who land a further three scatter symbols during the round will be awarded another five free spins while players who land a further four scatter symbols during the round will be awarded another 10 free spins.
