Redesigned New Bingo Sites
As technology and tastes change and develop, so too does the design and functionality of online bingo sites. A site that may originally have been cutting edge when it was first launched can quickly become dated, both in how it looks and how it plays. The best online bingo sites regularly refresh the look and feel of their home page, bingo lobby, slots and games layout, and their navigation in general, to utilise the latest technology and ensure that players once again feel like they are at a new online bingo site. Therefore, while a relaunched bingo room might not technically be classified as ‘new’, we will nevertheless review it once more after a re-design, so that our users will know what it’s like to play at the updated site. These types of new sites are worth a look as they are also likely to have some great bingo site offers.
How we rate new bingo sites
WhichBingo has always used the classic and universally recognised star rating system – taking 5* as the best there is. We take 10 different criteria we deem vital that a brand gets right and each one is rated out of 5 – the total out of 50 is then divided by 10 to give the 1 – 5 star rating you see on site. This more accurately reflects the overall performance of more aspects of each individual site we review.

In addition the table will show some of the aspects of the site in each section that reflects its score out of 5.
We think our users will agree this is much more transparent and you will see at a glance what a bingo site is good at or where they need improvement.
Responsible Gambling and Positive Play
Since the heady days of new online bingo site launches when we were seeing 60+ per year and had over 600 UK bingo brands, things have quietened down. However, the UK gambling authorities and the brands themselves are more concerned than ever that everyone who plays with them should do so for entertainment, and that playing should not become a problem. Every site we feature is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission we check every site for their safe play tools and we have a respected partner in Better Change, an organisation that works with operators and brands to ensure that they know how to look after the people that play with them and promotes Positive Play.
Brands are being stricter on Know Your Customer regulations and insisting on certain documents being produced in a timely manner and while many customers are not over fond of this, they must do it to protect their licence.
When it comes to looking after yourself while playing online bingo these types of safeplay tools can prove invaluable:
- Deposit Limits
- Stake Limits
- Time Keeper
- Cooling Off Periods
- Game Freeze
- Self Exclusion

What’s new about online bingo?
In 2024, the online bingo landscape is evolving rapidly, with technology driving significant changes across the industry. Mergers and acquisitions have reshaped the market, resulting in fewer but more feature-rich bingo sites. Meanwhile, enhancements in gaming technology continue to improve user experiences, from immersive graphics to seamless mobile play. At WhichBingo, we’re committed to staying on top of these shifts, regularly reviewing the newest bingo sites and their offerings, including the latest themes, games, and welcome bonuses.
Enhanced Themed Bingo Games
One major trend this year is the ongoing popularity of themed bingo games. These games give players a familiar and engaging experience, often by leveraging popular cultural themes. While partnerships with TV shows remain a staple, they now encompass a broader range of licenses. Iconic titles like Coronation Street Bingo and The Chase Bingo continue to draw in players at Entain brands such as Gala Bingo. Newer entries in themed bingo include updated licenses with modern twists on beloved classics.
The integration of slot game themes into bingo is also on the rise. For example, Playtech has adapted not only its Age of Gods series, but now its Clover Rollover slot game, bringing familiar characters and visuals from its popular slots into the bingo format. These games generally follow traditional bingo formats like 90-ball or 75-ball but add unique bonuses and prize opportunities, enhancing the overall experience and providing additional chances to win.
Conversely in these two areas some licences and themes have disappeared. These include Friends Bingo, The Voice Bingo, Crystal Maze Bingo and Masked Singer Bingo, and in the slots-themed bingo area we have lost Rainbow Riches Bingo.
In a new development many brands are introducing 90 ball bingo rooms themed around a particular slot game, but where you win spins on that particular game rather than cash prizes. They have become very popular, very quickly.
Revamped Welcome Bonuses
With so many options available, bingo sites are increasingly competing for player attention through a variety of innovative welcome bonuses. It’s not just about bingo tickets anymore; new sites are offering bundles that may include slot bonuses or a mix of both. This variety allows players to explore different game types and enjoy more value from their initial deposit. However, as always, it’s essential to read the fine print. Terms and conditions can vary greatly, so WhichBingo’s reviews can help you navigate the best offers available in 2024.

New bingo site features
In 2024, we can expect to see more changes to online bingo and slot sites when it comes to regulation, technology and players’ expectations. The best sites are the ones that will keep up with all these changes and are able to innovate to meet player demands.
Bonuses will continue to be a key area. While not everyone shops around looking for bonuses, many players do. Up until now, many casinos have just tweaked the same old-same old bonus structures, mixing straight percentage bonuses with free spins. This doesn’t take into account players’ individual preferences.
Going forward, more dynamic, personalised bonuses can be expected as bingo sites and casinos adopt the latest technology and data. Real-time offers are another exciting possibility, via WhatsApp messages, site pop-ups, push notifications, SMS or emails received as you play. Whether all players will welcome these intrusions remains to be seen…
At the same time, while the potential uses for this type of technology are exciting, the question remains whether these sorts of things will sit comfortably with responsible gambling policies.
Our team of reviewers is made up of experienced online bingo and slots players, so we know what it takes to run a site that meets our readers’ high expectations. We look in detail at a wide range of features in reaching our judgement, and we give you our opinion about whether we think a site is worthwhile playing at or not.
New Bingo Games
Although most sites will offer the traditional forms of the game — namely 90 ball, 80 ball and 75 ball bingo — there are also some other interesting variations that are worth checking out.
52 ball bingo (which is sometimes called 52-5), is a variation of the game that features playing cards as opposed to conventional online bingo tickets. When a card is called, rather than being dabbed in the usual way, it is covered by a casino chip. This combines to make 52 ball bingo a fast-paced game, as it uses a conventional deck of 52 cards and only the Full House is called.
Another popular variation is 30 ball bingo, which at some sites is called Speed Bingo. A 30 ball bingo ticket is set out in a 3 x 3 formation, with numbers 1-10 on the top row, 11-20 in the middle, and 21-30 on the bottom row. The game can be played either as paying out on a Full House only, or with payouts for the lines in sequence (top to bottom).

If you’re an online bingo fan who’s eager to branch out into other game variants than the usual 90-ball and 75-ball type, the latest Gamesys invention is ready to entertain you. Bingo 80 made its debut in September 2022, joining Gamesys staples including Bubble Up Bingo, and Tiki Bingo.
As well as using 80 balls, the new room uses a fun 80s theme. It offers you two ways to win in every game. Plus, for as little as 1p, you could also be lucky enough to land the room’s exclusive progressive jackpot.
Inside the room, there’s the chance to enjoy a range of slots, casino games, and instant wins to enhance the playing experience and give you extra chances to win prizes. There’s even a chat room to help you get to know other faces at Gamesys brands like Double Bubble Bingo and Jackpotjoy.
It’s 90 ball bingo, but with lots more bells and whistles – and that’s just what the good old traditional game needed!
Bubble Up Bingo is easy to play because it is 90 ball bingo, but you will be watching for those double numbers like never before and Lucky Number 7 really is lucky as it will win you a progressive jackpot if you land on it to call ‘House!’. The double numbers give you double the prize money for the 1l, 2l and full house.
New Bingo Software
The laws, rules and regulations surrounding new bingo and casino sites, not to mention the hundreds of sites that already operate in the UK, have always been amongst the most stringent in the world. The UK online bingo industry was issued with a whole new set of regulations in 2019, and now in 2024 every month seems to see more regulations being introduced.
Parliamentary bodies and gambling organisations that have sprung up to try and prevent the increase of problem gambling are all adding their voice to the call for increased regulation. All these factors have had a significant effect on the number of new bingo sites opening and the amount of bingo and casino sites that are closing down altogether.
While Dragonfish is still a popular choice for operators wishing to open a new bingo site, Jumpman Gaming has surpassed them for the sheer number of sites and since 2020 as being the platform of choice for operators looking to open a new site. Dragonfish brands are still seen as predominant for bingo, but those looking to offer a more slots-oriented site are opting for Jumpman. The move by Jumpman Gaming to Pragmatic Play bingo software in 2020, away from their standalone platform, seems to have been a wise move.
How Frequently are new bingo websites launched?
As of 2024 new bingo websites are not launched very often at all. As stated above, back in the ‘good old days’ we were seeing 60+ new bingo sites every year appear on our screens. In the last 18 months there has barely been five – and a couple of those have even closed again in the same period.
That means on this new bingo sites page we are looking for brands that are going above and beyond, redesigning or doing something on site that makes them stand out as refreshed and exciting to play
What has changed?
Prior to 2019, each year saw record numbers of new bingo sites and new slot sites opening. It seemed anyone could become a bingo operator and the term ‘bedroom affiliates’ became common. During 2019, and nearly every month since, new rules and restrictions mean only bigger, established operators really have the means to continue opening new sites:
- A 15% remote gambling duty tax was introduced that was payable on wagers on an account, including bonus money. This was subsequently raised further to 21%. This affected both welcome bonuses and free spin offers, together with the viability of smaller operators without big budgets.
- Gambling advertising restrictions were toughened up. They cannot reference welcome offers before 9pm on TV and must reference responsible gaming support services, such as begambleaware.org
- Design of sites was impacted as rules were introduced stating that content, games, character images, mascots or themes that might prove attractive to children and young adults under 18 year-olds were not allowed. Many bingo sites heavily featured cuddly creatures and cartoon-style mascots.
- Stricter KYC (Know Your Customer) laws were implemented that insisted that all remote gambling operators had to ensure they were satisfied with the age and identity of potential customers as they joined the site and before placing any bets. This has put a lot of players off joining new sites.
- Loyalty schemes and VIP schemes are being targeted as having the potential to cause gambling harm by encouraging people to play more and bet more and are being phased out so sites can stay on the right side of the law.
All these restrictions have affected the ability to attract new players and to reward the ones that brands do get to join them. So, we have seen hundreds of sites closed down altogether, almost halving the number of available sites and a lot fewer new ones opening to take their place.
What is certain is that when you choose to join a new site, you will be more valued than ever before.
2023 – A Year in Review
2023 was a bit slow in the world of online bingo as far as new bingo site launches go. The uncertainty about the looming UK gambling law changes certainly hasn’t helped. What’s more, wannabe operators don’t really have many options when it comes to choosing their bingo software any more. Platforms have either been discontinued (Cozy) or are too expensive (Playtech).
Despite the apparent doom and gloom, a couple of innovative operators have come up with some unique ways to enjoy the great game of bingo. Early in 2023, Hull-based outfit Wexel Gaming launched Bingo Plus: a digital bingo platform that allows punters to play in-house or linked games via touch-screens installed at various bricks-and-mortar venues.
The best thing is that these games can also be accessed via mobile, tablet or PC devices. The platform also includes live-streamed bingo games hosted by real people, as well as slots from Blueprint and Slingo. Bingo Plus already enjoys good coverage on the high-street and can be found in land-based venues such as Parkdean Resorts, Merkur, LOL Bingo and Coral Island.
A couple of operators have also made waves by overhauling existing brands and vastly improving them in the process. Digital Rush Ltd is one such operator. It’s repackaging of Bingo Loft and Fantastic Spins set tongues wagging in 2022/23, thanks in part to the inclusion of Broadway’s Dragonfish bingo product. We should also add that we’ve managed to secure a pair of exciting and exclusive deals for these two bingo sites!
What’s in Store in ‘24?
2024 is likely going to be another slow year in terms of new bingo site launches, with the gambling law changes casting a shadow over the entire iGaming industry. Although bingo isn’t likely to be as impacted as the casino and slot sectors, the expected changes may have certain repercussions. For instance, £2 stake limits could make it difficult to purchase tickets which, in turn, may cause ticket prices to drop. Although a seemingly welcome scenario, the quality and size of the prizes would probably suffer as a result.
Whatever the case may be here, there’s no doubt that operators will need to find new ways of appealing to the masses in order to stay afloat. And as Wexel Gaming has shown us, not to mention operators such as Digital Rush and Pragmatic Play, the most obvious solution is to provide an innovative and/or compelling bingo product.
Who will be opening new bingo sites in 2024?
The leading names in online bingo look a lot different in 2024 to those of a few years ago.
Playtech wins a lot of awards for its bingo and slots platform, but it has lost a number of its brands to Jumpman Gaming too. However, it remains a strong platform and one we do not hesitate to recommend.
Gamesys has opened a number of new sites during the last 12 months after a long gap, although they too have lost brands to Jumpman.
Entain (formerly ElectraWorks) is starting to find its feet having taken on Cozy Games and closed most of the existing sites down. Entain (formerly GVC), the owner, is now looking to consolidate what it has and we should see more growth here during the rest of 2020 and into 2021.
Pragmatic Play may become a force in its own right moving forward as more and more platforms adopt their bingo software. Together with Jumpman, LeoVegas brands and Nektan brands all moved over or adopted the software, much to the delight of players. Many brands that have been traditionally just casino or slots sites will also start to offer more bingo games because of the success of the platform.
Jumpman Gaming can’t be left out of a list such as this. It may no longer run its own bingo software, but the platform is instantly recognisable as Jumpman when a new site opens, not as Pragmatic Play. The number of Jumpman sites grows every month.
The Best of the Rest
Relax Gaming and B-Live Gaming are two small software platforms that may or may not survive the next few years, but one bingo platform we are saying goodbye to during 2020 is Microgaming. Earlier this year they took the decision to exit themselves from the intricacies of operating their own bingo software, choosing instead to focus on slot game development and their casino platform.
MrQ manages to go from strength to strength as a standalone platform, but whether or not this goes down the route of offering white label solutions to other operators remains to be seen as we proceed through 2020.
We have also been waiting anxiously for the birth of the Yggdrasil bingo platform that was first mentioned almost two years ago now, but no amount of research has produced any up-to-date news on the subject.
New Bingo Sites With No Wagering
These looked set to be the ‘next big thing’ back in 2018, but the novelty soon wore off. Newly launched bingo sites were jostling for your attention in a crowded marketplace, and there was an increasing variety of deals on offer to entice you to sign up and play at one site over another. This led to plenty of innovative moves with regard to welcome bonus deals and the signup offer with no wagering requirements was king.
With most welcome bonuses, you are able to buy bingo tickets in any room and wager the bonus sum you receive a set number of times before you can cash out any of the bonus or winnings from it (the industry average is 4x, although it can vary). However, for many new bingo sites, 2020 was the year of the signup deal with no playthrough, but many allocated tickets in specified rooms at specified times and this was not popular with players. It hurt and has not taken off as we would have expected. In 2024 we are still seeing some bingo sites going with a no wagering offer, but without some of the initial restrictions while others are adding back wagering but at reasonable levels.
Check out the best bingo sites no wagering.
New bingo sites with no deposit
Sorry to disappoint, but these are very thin on the ground in 2024. Once upon a time offering a no deposit bonus was a sure fire way to attract new players to see what you had on offer at your site, but now every bonus of any kind offered by a bingo site is taxed. In addition, players are more aware of terms and conditions and so know that any wagering requirements attached to no deposit bonuses mean they are unlikely to yield any real money winnings.
Every now and then a bingo site will bite the bullet and offer a no deposit bonus or, more likely, some no deposit free spins, and you can be sure we will hunt these down for you and display them on our no deposit bonus page.
Why Play at a New Bingo Site
When you choose to play at a new bingo site, you will generally enjoy a positive playing experience with a variety of games, interesting bonuses and the latest technology that is accessible on all your devices.
- Take advantage of a range of welcome bonuses: Most sites are eager to build a player base, and so you can benefit from some innovative and potentially lucrative bonuses, sometimes with no wagering requirement applied to the bonus or your winnings.
- Enjoy an enhanced playing experience: Gamification is a recent development in online gaming that seeks to enhance the playing experience by adding features to your playing journey beyond the games themselves. You might, for instance, be invited to complete a range of tasks, such as play a particular game at a particular time, in order to earn rewards.
- Play on any device: The advent and development of HTML technology mean that bingo sites are now generally accessible on any type of portable device, and you can play on your smartphone or tablet directly in your browser without having to download and install a bingo app. This lets you play anywhere and on any device using a single set of account and login details.
- Play at a site with character and appeal: Most recently launched bingo sites have very distinctive personalities and characters, and work hard at player engagement both on the site itself and via social media platforms. If you like entertainment and enjoyment beyond playing the games, then you are more likely to find this sort of environment at a site that has only recently entered the market.
- Play more than just bingo: Although we all love playing online bingo, many of us enjoy mixing up our gameplay with some slots or casino game action too. Most of the bingo sites we feature will give you this option, with a good selection of slots, table and card games, video poker and live dealer games to add more variety to your gaming experience. If you decide that you want more time on the reels, we can help you explore all the latest UK slots online in our dedicated slots sites pages.
Are New Sites Safe and Secure?
There are a number of factors to be aware of when looking to join either a new bingo or new casino site and some of them are quite technical. We will tell you what they are, but you can remain safe in the knowledge that all the sites featured on WhichBingo are perfectly safe and licensed correctly. All sites featured must have a UKGC licence and if anyone loses that licence for any reason, they are removed from WhichBingo immediately.
A new remote bingo operating licence is not cheap, currently starting at £2,640 and rising to £57,304 based on potential annual yield. Then the annual renewals are significantly more expensive.
- Operators also have to meet stringent software technical standards that cover fairness and customer data protection, including, but not limited to Customer account information, displaying transactions, rules, game descriptions and the likelihood of winning, generation of random outcomes, progressive jackpot systems and financial limits.
Cyber security is central to online gaming, as players are required to share both personal and financial information in order to be able to open an account. Therefore, ensuring that your details are kept safe is integral, which is why bingo sites utilise up-to-date encryption technology in order to protect you online. 128-bit or 256-bit encryption is the norm.
You can usually find information on the site as to the type of encryption and cybersecurity protocols that are used to prevent your information being accessible when it is being transmitted online and to protect your personal details from being stolen or hacked.
You can see our full guide to UK Licensing and Regulation here.
Do New Sites Offer Sufficient Payment Options?
The recent changes in legislation that prevent UK online gaming sites from accepting payments by credit card means that it is essential that sites offer players a number of alternative banking options. Most recently launched new bingo sites are ahead of the curve in this respect and offer a range of convenient and accessible payment methods. These include PayPal, Pay by Phone, e-wallets like Skrill, Neteller and ecoPayz, along with pre-paid solutions like PaysafeCard. Most will also accept payments by debit card and wire transfer.
