Manchester Casino Dealer Crowned Dealer of the Year by Grosvenor Casinos

A casino dealer working at the Grosvenor Casino Manchester Soames has won an exciting competition by the Grosvenor Casino and been crowned ‘Dealer of the Year’. The competition is now in its 10th year and the final was held in Coventry.

The Winner of Grosvenor Casinos’ Dealer of the Year

The winner of Grosvenor Casinos’ Dealer of the Year is one of the company’s most skilled dealers, Josh Williams. The 32-year-old works as a casino dealer at the Grosvenor Casino Manchester Soames and fought off serious competition to take the crown of the best dealer.

As part of the competition to win dealer of the year, contestants had to undertake a series of head-to-head challenges. There were ten finalists from all around the UK taking part in the competition and were put to their paces by a panel of eight judges. They had to show their aptitude and skill when dealing classic casino games such as roulette and blackjack.

Josh has worked at the Grosvenor Casino for more than nine years, starting after he finished university. The role interested him as he loves numbers and was able to quickly progress through the ranks. The judges were highly impressed by his dedication to his role including chip dexterity, communication skills, customer service skills, table maintenance and security. Overall, he won with an outstanding score of 94%.

Comments on the Dealer of the Year Winner

The winner of the Grosvenor Casinos’ dealer of the year said of the win that he could not believe he had won and that this win was life-changing for his career. He also noted that while this was the third time he had won this competition, it was still a shock and pleasant surprise to win. The competitive aspect of this competition is what draws him to take part repeatedly as he loves to challenge himself.

What’s more, the gaming performance manager at Grosvenor, Dave Allen, said that this competition was a great way to celebrate the company’s talented dealers and noted how much Josh had impressed the team and himself.

As part of the win, Josh received prize money of £3,500 but has not shared what he is planning to do with the money just yet.

Young Dealer Wins Grosvenor Casino Award

While Dealer of the Year is the main event, Grosvenor Casino also holds an event for those with less than two years of experience. This was won by Shawnee Allen from Liverpool and she was the only woman to take part in the competition. She finished with a score of 80% and this has given her the boost she needed to progress her career with Grosvenor after previously completing its training programme.
