Mulled wine, with its aromatic spices, is the top choice for creating a warm and cosy atmosphere, followed by the sparkling luxury of Champagne and the party atmosphere of Prosecco.
The Christmas classic of Eggnog – to some an acquired taste – ranked 4th overall.
Moving onto the dessert options and Mince Pies are officially the nation’s favourite Christmas treat. Brits ranked Mince Pies above every chocolate option available and even the classic Christmas Pudding itself!
Drilling down into the rankings of the chocolate options, Celebrations beat Quality Street, After Eight’s and Roses to claim the number one spot.
