The good news for players in the UK is that this slot does not come with Foxium’s Foxify feature. This allowed you to up your chances of a win in a Foxified slot for a larger outlay. This was not allowed in UKCG-regulated online casinos, slots and bingo sites making some of Foxium’s games a little hard to find. You should be able to uncover Foxpot in any other casino or similar site that carries Microgaming titles.

You may be confused when you open up Foxpot for the first time. This game does qualify as a slot, but not as the kind of video slot online casino players have now become accustomed to. The symbols share screen space with a huge, spinning wheel that’s packed with goodness. The game looks as if it is being played centre-stage in a neon-decked casino, surrounded by video slot cabinets. Just what is going on?

The good news is that your buddies at WhichBingo are here to shine a little slotting light on this not-your-run-of-the-mill slot from Foxium.

How to play

Just like any normal slot, you start playing this game by selecting your stake-per-spin. This can be anything from £0.20 up to £25. When you are happy with your stake, hit the spin button as per the norm.

This slot only has one single row (just like a good, old-fashioned one-armed bandit) and it contains four symbols. The right-hand reel is not a symbol as such (it does not contribute to a win) but a 2x or 3x multiplier. If the multiplier lands with a value fully in view (and most of the time it does not) then any win generated by the symbols is multiplied by the value of the multiplier.

Wins are paid as a multiplier of your stake. The maximum wins are for three symbols, and are paid as detailed below:

  • 3 x Wilds = 40 x bet (max £1,000)
  • 3 x Triple Sevens = 25 x bet (max £625)
  • 3 x Double Sevens = 15 x bet (max £375)
  • 3 x Single Sevens = 10 x bet (max £250)
  • 3 x Melons = 4 x bet (max £100)
  • 3 x (Any) Sevens = 3 x bet (max £75)
  • 3 x Lemons = 2.5 x bet (max £62.50)
  • 3 x Piums = 1.5 x bet (max £37.50)
  • 3 x Cherries = 1 x bet (max £25)

Jackpot

This game has three ‘progressive style’ jackpots that are not actually progressive jackpots:

  • the Foxpot at 1,000 times your stake
  • the Midi Jackpot at 125 times your stake
  • the Mini Jackpot at 25 times your stake

You can only win the jackpots with a spin of the outer reel of the Foxpot wheel, but you can combine a jackpot with a multiplier (max x10) to win £250,000 if you are playing with the max stake.

Bonus features

Wild symbols

The Foxpot logo acts as the wild symbol in this game. Not only does it score wins, it also substitutes for all other symbols aside from the bonus symbol.

Bonus Game

The bonus game can spring into action at any time, filling the reel with bonus symbols. The reels will spin and if a bonus symbol lands fully in view then you activate the Foxpot Wheel reels. The more bonus symbols you land, the more reels you unlock.

If you fail to land three bonus symbols fully in view then the ‘nudge’ feature may pop up. This may nudge bonus symbols into place so they do trigger Foxpot Wheel reels.

Each reel that is triggered contains the following elements:

  • First Reel: Contains the three Foxpot jackpot and direct cash rewards.
  • Second Reel: Contains some multipliers. The amount from the first reel is multiplied by the value of the multiplier landed upon.
  • Third Reel: Contains four respin symbols and four non respin symbols. If you land on a respin symbol you get to re-spin all three reels all over again! Respins can continue until a non-respin symbols lands.

You can only unlock the reels in sequence. If you only land one bonus symbol then you only unlock the first reel, and so on.

Graphics and Sounds

As we said at the beginning, the action at Foxpot takes place in a neon-coloured room which is half a casino and half a TV studio. The playing area is in a similar style with a touch of gold too. It fits the ‘game show’ vibe very well and has been expertly designed.

The sounds are the spin of the reels against a gentle, electro-fused tune. The game show idea is maintained throughout with an announcer shouting out at appropriate moments, and an audience cheering whenever something thrilling happens.

Conclusion

Online slots companies are always trying something a little different when it comes to video slots as the trend moves away from the kind of 5×3 video slots that were first played in the 1980s. Kudos then to Foxium for trying something completely different, and Foxpot is a game they’ve pulled off very well indeed. How slot lovers will react to a single-row slot remains to be seen.

We would have liked the jackpots to have been true progressive jackpots, but then you don’t get everything you want in life, do you?

A game that’s well worthy of your time, and we suggest you hunt out Foxpot at one of WhichBingo’s recommended online slots or bingo sites.
