How to play
Spinning the reels of Legend of the Ice Dragon is incredibly easy and you can get started in just a few simple steps. Players can set their bet per spin using the + and – arrows below the reels. Once your bet is set, hit the green and white arrow spin button to send the reels tumbling. Bets per spin start in this game from 20p and rise to £20.
This is a cluster pays slot game and so winning combinations are formed by landing a minimum of five matching symbols on the reels. These should be adjacent to each other either vertically or horizontally.
The symbols on the reels of this game are:
- Green club
- Red diamond
- Blue spade
- Purple heart
- Red dragon eye
- Green gem
- Blue flames
- Purple flames
In the base game, the highest value symbol on the reels is the dragon eye. This will award players 500x their total stake when 30 or more land in a winning cluster. In the ice frame feature, there is the potential to win up to 6,000x your total stake.
In the Legend of the Ice Dragon, there are four special features including a wild symbol, cascading wins, ice frame feature, freezing features and the ice crystal features.
The blue W is the wild symbol and this will replace other symbols on your reels to help form new winning combinations and award larger cash prizes.
The popular cascading wins feature is present in this slot game where symbols in winning clusters are removed from the reels to make way for new symbols that can potentially create new winning combos. This feature only ends when no new winning combinations are formed.
Watch out for the wild symbols landing on the reels as each time they do, an ice frame will form on that square. When the reels spin again, if a wild lands in that space, the ice frame feature will be activated. An increasing multiplier is attached to the wild symbol and this will increase by 1x each time a wild symbol then lands on the reels. The maximum multiplier it can reach is 8x.
On a non-winning spin, there is the chance that one of three freezing features may be triggered.
- Avalanche feature – two symbols are randomly chosen and all of those same symbols on the reels will be removed. Wild symbols will then be added to these new empty spaces
- Blizzard feature – two to five symbols are transformed into wilds and all other symbols are removed from the reels for the next cascade
- Hailstorm feature – a randomly chosen symbol will become a wild along with two other matching symbols on the reels and five adjacent symbols
Whenever a winning cluster is formed, the symbols will be used to power up the ice crystal charger to the left hand side of the reels. If 20 or more symbols are added to the charger from triggered cascades or one winning cluster, this feature will be triggered and players will be awarded one of four features:
- Dragon blast feature – when 80 symbols are collected, this feature is triggered where every ice frame on the reels is transformed into wild symbols with multipliers
- Destruction feature – when 60 symbols are collected, this feature is triggered where all low value symbols are taken away from the reels
- Ice scorch feature – when 40 symbols are collected, this feature is triggered where three to six symbols are transformed into wilds
- Tail lash feature – when 20 symbols are collected, this feature is triggered where all high value symbols transform into a matching high value symbol
If you get more than 80 symbols in a winning cluster, for each additional 10 symbols over 80, two more ice frames will be added to the reels.
Graphics and Sounds

Eastern Asian inspired music plays in the background as you spin which works well with the overall theme of the game.
The Legend of the Ice Dragon is a terrific slot game and the graphics are beautifully done. Players are sure to enjoy the fantasy and dragon theme and the animation looks incredible. While there are no scatters or free spins in this game, there is still lots going on and you will not miss them.
Players will particularly enjoy the freezing features, ice crystal features and ice frame feature that can potentially award wins of up to 6,000x your total stake. It is also great to see the cascading wins feature in play too as this is hugely popular amongst online slot players and will be a big draw for many to spin the reels of The Legend of the Ice Dragon.
