How to Play
New Year’s Bonanza from Playtech is a 5-reel slot, but with a slight difference to the norm. The reels are arranged in a 3-4-4-4-3 pattern, which is a formation even Jurgen Klopp has yet to try out. There are fifty paylines in total, and all fifty paylines are in play upon every spin. To play you need to select your total bet using the plus and minus arrows towards the bottom of the pay area.
Your total bet can be as low as 0.25, or as high as 100.00. As you are paying fifty coins per spin, you coin size is anything from 0.005 to 2.00. When you are ready to see in the new year, hit that all-important spin button.
The Rocket symbol is wild in this game, and it substitutes for any other symbol aside from the scatter symbol.

You will not be seeing in the new year with a massive jackpot if you play this slotting title, as Playtech has not provided it with a progressive jackpot. The maximum you can win is £150,000, which is for five ‘Man’ symbols with a 10x multiplier included.
The Clock symbol is the scatter symbol in this game. You need to land three scatter symbols on the reels during the same spin to earn yourself free spins. Scatter symbols appear on the central three reels only.
When you land a Rocket Wild on the reels, the rocket will rotate to a random position facing either right, left, up or down. The rocket will then fire leaving a trail of wild symbols in its wake. .
Rocket Wild Multipliers
If one Rocket Wild zooms over the path created by another Rocket Wild, then the symbol where the paths cross will have a x3 multiplier added to it. If the symbol is already a x3 multiplier, then it becomes a x10 multiplier and multiplies all wins ten times over.
During your free spins, all positions upon which the wild symbols land remain in place. If there is more than one wild symbol in the same space, then this becomes a multiplier symbol at x2. This ‘multiplication’ factor can continue throughout free spins, right up to a x5 wild.
On your final free spin, all wilds that have landed during the free spins feature are repositioned upon the reels to give you a better chance of a win. This includes the win multipliers.
Graphics and Sounds
The graphics used for this game are not likely to get you too animated, especially as they are not animated themselves. The sounds are of a new year’s party and can be muted which is a good thing, as one cackling lady is likely to becoming very annoying during an extended play session.
Upon playing this slot, you may think it’s New Year 2009 or even New Year 1999, such is the slots’ retro vibe. This is not altogether a bad thing necessarily, especially if you prefer slots that slot into the simpler end of the spectrum.
