Betting Company Flutter Shows Community Spirit with £400k Cash4Clubs Initiative
Flutter UKI, the betting company behind brands Paddy Power Bingo, Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming and tombola, shows that giving back can be a priority. As part of its Do More initiative which hopes to improve the lives of 10 million people by 2030, Flutter UKI has proudly announced the return of its flagship Cash4Clubs programme, offering financial support to grassroots sports organisations.
For 2024, Cash4Clubs will offer a massive £400,000 fund for clubs across the UK and Ireland. 200 community adult sports clubs have the chance to receive grants of £2,000 each. The funding can be used to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, run coaching programmes, or drive participation in sports.
From Local Pitches to the Paralympics and Beyond
Since its launch in 2008, Cash4Clubs has supported thousands of grassroots organisations, with nearly £6 million invested to date. In 2023, Welcome House Hull used its grant to establish Acorn FC for refugees and asylum seekers. Shirley Hart from Welcome House Hull said: “We teamed up with Active Through Football and made history by playing the first inter-city asylum seeker competitive football match. We could not have done this without your grant”.

Meanwhile, the London Wheelchair Rugby Club used their 2023 grant to send players to the Paralympics. Craig Streeter, Vice Chairman of the club, said: “These donations help fund everything from tournaments to tape and are essential in the progression of the club and our members”.
Over 85% of clubs awarded funding last year reported an increase in activities, and more than 9,000 new participants aged 18 and over joined fitness programmes as a direct result, making the programme’s benefits clear.
Love for Local Sports
The programme is designed to help communities thrive through sport. Dame Caroline Dinenage, MP and chair of the cross-party DCMS Select Committee (Culture, Media and Sport) says:
“These clubs do great work in our communities, bringing people together, getting them active and developing new skills and passions. This money will make a huge difference“.
The initiative complements Sport England’s 10-year plan looking to boost physical activity. By focusing on grassroots sports in underfunded areas, Cash4Clubs plays a huge role in breaking down barriers to participation and enabling local clubs to make an even bigger impact.

Other Brands Step Up
While Cash4Clubs is led by Flutter UKI, other brands including those in the Entain family are also stepping up. Foxy Bingo, Gala Bingo, and Ladbrokes have each launched their own charitable initiatives and local sponsorships, making significant contributions to communities. Through these efforts, Flutter’s brands demonstrate that betting companies can give back in meaningful ways.
A Word From Flutter UKI
Ian Brown, Flutter UKI’s Chief Exec said: “The stunning success of Team GB at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics once again highlighted the power of sport. We hope Cash4Clubs can play an important part in helping at the grassroots level by enabling small clubs to play an even bigger role in their community. We believe this programme can make a real difference in the areas that need it most”.
With Cash4Clubs, Flutter UKI shows that betting companies can balance business success with improving the lives of local people.
Working alongside leading UK charity Sported, the grants are open for applications from 12th September 2024 until mid-November.
