Entain Chief Governance Office to Step Down

Entain Chief Governance Office to Step Down

Entain’s Chief Governance Officer, Robert Haskin, is parting ways with the company it has been announced. Haskin has been with the company for nearly two decades.

Who is Entain?

Entain is one of the biggest gaming and sports betting companies in the world. It operates both online and in the retail sector and uses a unique proprietary technology platform to provide a wide range of services from bingo to casino. They work with some of the UK’s most famous brands such as Foxy Bingo, Coral, Gala and Ladbrokes.

Entain is currently operating in over 20 countries and is a member of the FTSE 100.

Changes to Entain’s Top Team

Entain has announced that its Chief Governance Officer, Robert Hoskin, is to step down and leave the company after almost 20 years. Hoskin became part of the Entain team back in 2005 and worked as a company secretary and group director of legal, regulatory and secretariat. He then became the Chief Governance Officer in 2020 and in 2021 he joined the company board.

Hoskin will step down from his role as the Chief Governance Officer on August 31st 2023 and his role as a board member on June 30th 2023.

Entain is making changes to the company due to a restructuring of responsibilities in relation to its Regulatory Affairs. It is putting compliance front and centre of its company structure and looks to put all of its attention on regulated gambling markets. Taking over the role is the acting general counsel, Simon Zinger.

Statements from Entain and Hoskin

Hoskin has said that the company has gone through an ‘extraordinary transformation’ and that Entain is now known for being one of the best and most responsible operators in the gambling industry. He has expressed his honour at being part of the company during its fantastic journey and that he wishes all of the team the best for the future.

The Chair of Entain, Barry Gibson, has said that Hoskin was a key player in the sustainability plans implemented by Entain.

There will be two new committees as part of the Entain overhaul. This will include a sustainability and compliance committee as well as a people and governance committee.
