Most of the latest news from the UK Gambling Commission appears on the regulatory body’s website. However, its LinkedIn account recently showed that there’s often behind-the-scenes work going on to help the UKGC improve its relationships and knowledge of the organisations and businesses that it regulates and licences.
Recently UKGC representatives paid a visit to Merkur Bingo in Northampton, as well as Aspers Casino. The trip aimed to help the organisation “better understand the challenges of land-based casinos and bingo halls” and develop insights into how operators are adapting to the “challenges” posed by the cost-of-living crisis and the after-effects of COVID-19. The Commission says that making time to speak informally and directly with gambling businesses will allow it to make more “sound decisions”.
