Friends Bingo is based on the famous story of six friends who hang out at each other’s apartments and the local coffee house. The cult status that the sitcom has gained since 1994 has led to many companies creating licensed merchandise.
However, only Electraworks/Entain bingo sites have secured the rights to host Friends Bingo games, and if you’re a member of one or you’re willing to sign up, you too can have a ball with Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler.
As a 90-ball variant, Friends Bingo offers three main prizes (one line, two lines, and a full house). However, the highlight of the game is the Central Perk Jackpot which varies in value depending on the number that’s called when the full house is won.
How to Play
To get started, you’ll need to ensure that you have sufficient funds to purchase tickets. Tickets can be bought within the bingo room and they usually cost between 5p and 15p each. You can buy a maximum of 48 tickets for each game.
Once you’ve bought your cards, you need to pick a team before the game begins. There are six teams to choose from, each of which is based on one of the show’s characters such as Ross and Rachel.
During the game, you get to see a leaderboard that shows which team has collected the most bingo balls, and when the game ends, the winning team gets to share the Community Jackpot.
While the game is underway, you simply need to wait and see whether you’re the first player to claim one of the three usual line prizes as the Central Perk Feature is only activated once the full house is claimed.
Each team leader (i.e. Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler) has a range of numbers allocated to them. For example, Phoebe has numbers 1 to 15 and Chandler has numbers 16 to 30.
When the game begins, you must pick one of these six teams, and the team that has the most balls called by the end gets to share the Community Jackpot. You can see how close your team is to winning by viewing the leaderboard while the game is in-play.
The Central Perk Ticket is shared between all participating players and it’s used for multiple games.
Each time that a player calls a full house, it gets marked off the Central Perk Ticket, and the winner gets an additional £2 prize. However, if the full house number helps to create a one-line, two-line or full house win on the Central Perk Ticket, the winner receives the Central Perk Jackpot worth £20, £25 or £75 respectively.
Graphics and Sounds
Before you can buy your tickets, you must click a Friend to select your team. You can then choose how many tickets you wish to purchase.
Your tickets are presented in the centre of the screen, and the Central Perk Tickets is always displayed at the top-left.
The balls are announced by Foxy in his familiar Northern twang before being automatically marked off your cards.
The settings menu (which can be accessed by clicking on the cog icon at the top-right) lets you change the size of your tickets, mute the sounds, and alter the colour and appearance of your dabber.
Although fans of Friends – the TV show – are the most likely candidates to play Friends Bingo, the game offers enough variety and excitement to garner the interest of every online bingo player.
Along with the three standard prizes that you’d expect to find in a 90-ball game, there are also two other ways to win through the Community Jackpot and Central Perk Ticket which adds to the excitement.
So, if you’ve been “on a break” from online bingo because you’ve been waiting for something new and exciting to come on the scene, it’s high time to play Friends Bingo!
