Fun and Charity are the Keywords for National Bingo Day 2024

The Biggest Day in Bingo is Here Again

National Bingo Day returns for its fourth year in the UK and more and more brands are getting involved. The wider bingo industry loves this special day – or week as it has now been designated – and The Bingo Association has gone all out to ensure it is a success.

A whole host of events will be taking place from Monday 24th June through to Sunday 30th June – with the height of the fun being found on the day itself on 27th June.

Hunt online or on the high street and you will find loads of exclusive games, events, activities and promotions. In-club bingo players who introduce a friend to bingo during National Bingo Week will benefit from a great offer and will get £10 in discount offers at that venue. Local T&Cs apply.

It’s all about the voice when calling bingo

Look out for the mystery celebrity bingo caller that the Bingo Association is sending out into one lucky club ahead of National Bingo Day, to see if players can recognise them just by their voice. If you are not in the lucky club we are sure the visit will be all over social media!

This was planned as part of National Bingo Day as new research commissioned by The Bingo Association revealed the nation’s favourite voices traits and accents. We all know a bingo players how important it is to be able to hear all the numbers from a clear and distinct voice from the main stage. In The Bingo Association survey Irish accents came out on top as Britain’s favourite (15%), while warmth (38%) and smoothness (27%) were voted the most attractive voice traits.

Playing for Charity

As has become customary The Bingo Association’s charity, Variety – The Children’s Charity will benefit from National Bingo Day activities. On Friday 28th June 2024, bingo clubs around the UK will be hosting a charity bingo game held in support that very special charity. As the game is played in each member bingo club, it is expected to raise over £20,000, and make a sizeable donation to the £1.8m already contributed by the industry since 2015.

Miles Baron, Chief Executive at The Bingo Association says: “We are thrilled to celebrate National Bingo Day and see how the industry and public come together for the love of bingo. This year’s celebrations give us a unique opportunity to celebrate the voices behind the game, as we invite a mystery celebrity bingo caller to host a unique game of bingo. We are looking forward to celebrating and supporting the best bingo callers in the country and continuing to provide players with a fun, sociable and inexpensive day and night out.”

*All participating bingo clubs and sites are licensed in the UK under the Gambling Act 2005. Individual games and promotions run in support of National Bingo Day are subject to each individual licensed operator’s Terms and Conditions. To join in all players must be 18 or over and should always play responsibly. For further information please visit www.gambleaware.co.uk

Mystery Celebrity Caller Revealed as Gemma Collins

We’ve seen The GC at bingo events before and we know she loves a good game of bingo, but we didn’t guess it might be she calling the numbers for this National Bingo Day event.

Judging by the social media output it’s fair to say Gemma had a blast at the bingo club she graced with her presence. She had such a great time that she was even heard to say, “I would like to do this as a full-time job”.

On social media she went even further, saying  “I had an absolute blast calling out the numbers at the bingo! What a night. Bingo brings everyone together and it’s fun and a cheap night out too. It was brilliant to meet the regulars – enjoying themselves and having a laugh with friends. I encourage everyone to support their local clubs next week for the big National Bingo Week.“

We couldn’t agree more and thank you for bringing some fun and sparkle to our favourite game!

Charlie Shakespeare is on his travels again (he doesn’t sit still for a minute, does he!). This time, Charles is in the big smoke to uncover the magic of the famous venue: the Hippodrome Casino. Opened over 120 years ago, the Hippodrome has been everything from an arena with a 100,000-gallon water tank sunk into the floor to where escapologist Harry Houdini performed in 1904, and a Peter Stringfellow-run club. Now,…
